I looked through some of the mock drafts, and about 6 DEs are projected to be pick in the first round. Five out of the six DEs might go before the patriots pick at #23. But with peppers and taylor available, do you think some teams might not draft a DE in the first round and opt for peppers and taylor instead?

If this holds true, do you think a DE that is projected at around the #10th to #15th pick might still be available at #23?

Aaron Maybin, Brian Orakpo, Tyson Jackson, Michael Johnson, are all projected to be picked around the #10th to #15th range. I hope Brian Orakpo or Aaron Maybin falls to the 23rd pick.

Maybin his crashing out of round one. He ran about a 4.89. If you want him he is there at #23. You can't be quick if you are slow too.

We will need to look at DE's if we don't re-sign Wright unless we think that Seymour, Green and LeKevin will all be extended and all stay healthy.

Also, the patriots are one of the teams that needs a DE and is presumably considering Peppers and Taylor.

I would love to sign Taylor to a deal and ALSO draft a lineman.

Peppers is way too expensive, I don't want to give up two 1st rounders for him

I would rather do the draft.....less money.....more years......hummmmmm....why would Bill let go Mike V......I think it's not cap...we made up for it w/Cassel......Bill has someting going on....Bill loves it when everybody think....they know what his next move.....in Bill we trust....

Defensive limen usually dont run very fast. But Iam hoping he falls to the 23rd slot though.

Maybin's shuttle time is at 4.38, his ability to cover 10 yards left and right should be good at stoping the runs to the outside. Scouts have him listed as a good pass rusher (Aaron Maybin, Penn State, NFL Draft - CBSSports.com Football) especially wide to the outside. I think he would be great as an OLB, he has speed to cover the outside and can rush wide, causing the OL to open their gaps more for mayo on the inside blitz.

You know BB loves to scheme and disguise his blitzs, and maybin is a threat to blitz on the outside wide, this should open the inside gaps for mayo, not to mention maybin should be able to recover and play coverage after he shows blitz.

As for Brian arakpo, he has a lot of straight speed, but does kinda lack the side to side coverage for outside runs. I think he will probally be better at DE due to lack of agility and the ability to cover from side to side. Brian arakpo straight speed is probally a sign of his acceleration and motor at the line of scrimage. If he can bulk up and not loose his acceleration and quickness at the line of scrimage, he should play more of a DE role. At the combine Brian Arakpo did 31 reps on the bench press, and his 40 time at 4.70, really shows his ability to collapse the OL, this brian orakpo is looking more like a richard seymour mold.

Other than David veikune, Brian orakpo is the only DL that have both the strength and motor, in the top 10 performers.
