Pepper Johnson gone from coaching staff

This would have been a top 10 defense if it had remained even semi-healthy.

And next year hopefully (with Talibs return) it will only get better.

By points, they were a top 10 defense even with all of those injuries. That's nothing short of ridiculous right there. And since I've really dug into the drive stats lately, they were 10th in points allowed per drive, too, just behind some different teams.

Yet another disgraceful, undeserved dismissal by that cold-hearted ingrate Belichick. What a pr##k.

Clearly with Pepper Johnson's departure, this coaching staff needs seasoning

I think Salty Jackson would be a good candidate to replace him.

Hey -- how 'bout the Spice Girls?!

What did average starting position of opponents' drives look like?

I'd beg Kevin Greene to take the job, if he was willing.

Defensive coordinators people have not been sold on in the BB era:

Romeo Crennel
Eric Mangini
Dean Pees
Matt Patricia

Offensive coordinators people have not been sold on in the BB era:

Charlie Weis
Josh McDaniels
Bill O'Brien

I see a pattern here......

The pattern I see, is that only one - Bill O'Brien at PSU - has succeeded as a head coach.

Weis started off well at ND
Crennel got the Browns their most wins since 1994
Pees was the DC of last year's SB winning team
Patricia has not moved on, as of today

Nope, your pattern is not it.

Re: Staff Changes

Pepper might've been thinking: I was passed-over for DC by this guy?, for the last 2 years.
