Patriots Player Departure PATS TRADE JAMIE COLLINS!!!

This is just BS on your part.. The Patriots have the money to have signed Collins to a long term deal. But Collins wanted 33% more than the Pats were willing to offer.

that and the fact that elandon roberts is chump change for 4 years and is really looking like the real deal......already a better tackler than collins

So this is as simple as it gets:

1. The Patriots decided they wouldn't be able to extend Jamie Collins, and due to the linebacker stockpile, they decided to trade him to get a return before he was worthless at the end of the season.
2. The market for Collins was fairly weak among teams that weren't in direct competition with the Patriots, with a third-round comp pick being the best deal they could get.
3. That's it.

No, we clearly didn't want Gordon nor Joe Thomas for that matter.

Obviously not. Clearly we didn't want Collins either.

I'm not mad at the trade as an idea. I'm mad because I think we didn't get anything for him in proper value and certainly nothing that's gonna help us win games in January.

Tom Jackon : They hate their coach (He means players and fans )

Belichick's next presser will be . . . interesting.

1) Collins play has been declining.

2) Collins has been injured.

3) Collins thinks he's worth $14M a year.

4) Collins has been splitting time with Roberts.

5) No one would pay more than Cleveland.

6) Would the patriots trade a 3rd for 4th to get a underperforming former pro-bowler for 8 games?

7) It is by no means certain that we won't sign more free agents than we lose.

8) The defense needs to play with desire to win, not desire to do well enough this week to earn $14M.

9) and yes, of course, there may be more that we don't know.
=====
BOTTOM LINE
No team would pay a 2nd to get an underperforming, injured Collins for 8 games.
