What? You mean stick to issues? Hmm. novel yet interersting approach.

I'll go ahead and extend the challenge to you to show some concrete evidence of where I've turned this argument into a battle of semantics. I don't know why I am, though. I don't expect to hear from you again in this thread at all.

Ah, football forums. :ugh:

Foreign concept, eh?

Alright, since this whole thread being about Buddy has pretty much gone on the wayside, let me offer my two cents on Brady's yelling at Galloway:

Looking at the issue from both perspectives, it's clear to see how Kontra feels it was classless in a way for Brady to rip Galloway a new one during that Falcons game. The guy's 38 years old, it was week 3 in a new offense, and he isn't necessarily known for his route running abilities.

I also see, from a fan's perspective, how Brady's outburst was justifiable. Up until that point in the season, scoring points in the redzone had been a hair-pulling issue that many Pats fans (including myself) were becoming very impatient with. As a result, who becomes the scapegoat on the possible scoring play? The man who dropped the ball/gave up on the play: Galloway.

Having said that, I agree with Kontra's point to a degree. I didn't view Brady's ranting so much classless as it was unnecessary because as most of us can attest to, yelling gets everyone nowhere, especially in a team sport. Also, if we are to in fact call out Manning for his shenanigans regarding his offensive line, then if anything we should at the very least be disappointed with Brady for acting like our arch-rival. In hindsite, I would have rather Brady just pulled Galloway to the side and maybe talk to him (Not coddle him, for those of you who want to downplay my stance, just talk to him). I wouldn't have cared if he had bashed him verbally with a smile on his face or just said, "We'll get 'em next time." Just due it subtly.

All in all, I think we can simply agree that for the better part of 2009, our season sucked. But that's all in the past. Galloway's gone; we have fresh new receivers in Hernandez, Gronk, Price, & Farnham(?); Edelman and Tate have a year under their belts (Tate more so through film study), and Brady is another year removed his surgery. Let's look towards 2010 people!

With this in mind, would it be possible for a mod to merge this into a new thread on the forum? One without a snarky thread title would be great.

Man, that is one seriously boring rejoinder. Your homework assignment for this evening is to come up with three quips, each of which is at least slightly less weak than Leon Washington's leg, and each of which features a play on one of these three concepts: animal, vegetable, and mineral.

I got a title:

(Brady v Galloway) v (Manning v Saturday) Who is righterer?

Dismissing it doesn't hide the fact that it's obviously gotten under your skin. Don't worry, strudel, there will be plenty of scintillating political discussions to talk about in due time.

I'm sure it's not as funny as your wimpy son trying to play football. But, it is what it is. I'm sure he's the daughter you've always wanted and never got. I'll respond to the rest of you that actually have debate skills when I get off work. Looks like moosekill has tapped out.

Not sure but I would think calling my children into this might be a bit out of line. Of course that son is 6'3 and 270 pounds and could kick the living snot out of you. I have a 7 year old, if that makes you feel like a big man you could pick on him.

I also have a 5 year old but he is kinda mean and could probably take a pansy ass like you.

Perhaps the mods might wanna step in before I get testy.

Ha ha - when d1cking around on the internet with a glass of wine turns into something having gotten under my skin! It's like magic, this damned internet!

A'ight.

moosekill, if you're going to try to lay out the personal attacks when you don't have a realistic point to make in an argument, you shouldn't start crying when someone responds to you with one of their own. I could say more if I wanted to but I'm just going to drop it. That was out of line of me and for that, I apologize.

Holy crap this thread has gone to hell in a handbasket! Quick! Someone fire up a Buddy Farnham v2.0 thread!

Listen you little turd, it is one thing for me to pick on you or you to pick on me. It is another thing for you to pick on my children. When you move out of your mother's basement and actually have sex with a woman, not your right hand, you may actually figure that out. Until then, leave my children out of it.

It most certainly has. It's the offseason though and we're all a little pissed off right now so it's to be expected. I'd like to continue this debate though.

I'll make it up to you by buying and sending you a new keyboard. I have a feeling you might need it. Read your PM.

If this is before you get testy, I'd hate to see you in full tantrum mode. Just chill. If you don't want to get shot at, stop firing salvos at others. They are going to respond if you insult them. Take a day off of the internet and when you come back, only open new threads.

Oh, and ignore works really well. My browsing pleasure increased a hundredfold simply by putting a half dozen of the forum's biggest rectal cavities on ignore.

Heh. I can only assume that I am one of these people...

Excuse me? That reply wasn't addressed to you. I was answering someone else, and it was a general comment on the way threads deteriorate, not specific to this thread, so your challenge is misplaced.

I think it was Mark twain that said not to wrestle in the mud with pigs. The pigs enjoy it and all you get is dirty. That was pre-internet of course, but the advice seem timeless. Since I already dirtied myself in the Holmes-ipod-FFA rules-science of radio frequency emission thread today, I'll take a pass on your challenge.

I don't expect to hear from you again in this thread at all.
Why not? Or are you telling me not to post again? Without getting into semantics, the intent of your statement is unclear to me.

The post you were quoting was directed at me. You'll forgive me for thinking that you were directing that barb at me.
