Perhaps sensing that they might be able to add a quality veteran defensive tackle, and on a reasonable short-term deal, the Patriots have done some checking on unrestricted free agent Ian Scott. The four-year veteran, who has played his entire career in Chicago, is among the few quality players remaining in the unrestricted pool.
