Not surprising. He almost left when Billy left for Penn state. Once texans hired him this was just a matter of time. Scar was at the end of his career. Only surprise was Pep. Watch Daboll slide in to TE coach.
Question is who is going to be the assistant head coach with scar gone?

Scar retires out of nowhere and his replacement is hired immediately. It's possible that Belichick knew before the season this was going to be his last year and they just hadn't made it public.
Yep saw that SVN posted this in the Scar thread
Christopher Price ?@cpriceNFL 13m
RT @tonygrossi: Confirmed: #Browns and #Patriots OC Josh McDaniels had more conversations this week. Possibly back in mix.
Possible Belichick could be cleaning house within the coaching staff.
Pepper Johnson decides to leave. A guy that has been with Bill practically his whole career as a player and coach.

But I'm not saying this was the case but i'm not going to rule it out. Both could have been fired but not technically fired.
And now McDaniels is possibly back in the mix for Cleveland after supposedly taking his name out of consideration.
Belchick said today they knew Scar was retiring and that Scar stayed long than thehe was going to stay.

It is possible that BB might have decided to make changes on his coaching staff.
Who knows? I hope he hires a legit Defensive Coordinator.
