Pats lose third positional coach in 36 hours as George Godsey heads to the Texans, per @RapSheet.

Hmm, what position coach was he?

Sheesh ... Belichick been skipping showers lately?

With O'Brien going to Houston this was the one expected. I expect Daboll to become TE coach. Leaving LB and Asst HC open.

Not surprising. He almost left when Billy left for Penn state. Once texans hired him this was just a matter of time. Scar was at the end of his career. Only surprise was Pep. Watch Daboll slide in to TE coach.

Question is who is going to be the assistant head coach with scar gone?

Mcdaniels would be my guess

I hope they bring in someone senior from the outside who can shake things up a bit, like Jim Schwartz. BB has been open about his respect and admiration for Schwartz, both as a personnel evaluator and as a defensive coach. I could see BB doing the same thing with Greg Schiano, though I'm not sure I like that one as much.

all TE's after gronk had a total of 14 rec so I don't think the pats are missing much here... next man up

I heard McDaniels may be back in the mix again for the Cleveland HC job.

Yep saw that SVN posted this in the Scar thread

RT @tonygrossi: Confirmed: #Browns and #Patriots OC Josh McDaniels had more conversations this week. Possibly back in mix.

Possible Belichick could be cleaning house within the coaching staff.

Pepper Johnson decides to leave. A guy that has been with Bill practically his whole career as a player and coach.

Scar retires out of nowhere and his replacement is hired immediately. It's possible that Belichick knew before the season this was going to be his last year and they just hadn't made it public.

But I'm not saying this was the case but i'm not going to rule it out. Both could have been fired but not technically fired.

And now McDaniels is possibly back in the mix for Cleveland after supposedly taking his name out of consideration.

Belichick already addressed this. They knew that Scar planned to retire at the end of the year; that's part of why they had Daboll working with the OL this year.

Belchick said today they knew Scar was retiring and that Scar stayed long than thehe was going to stay.

Now, that's a news flash!

Scar didn't PLAN to coach for the patriots for 30 years.

I'm not overly impressed with McDaniels.
Sunday was a perfect example. The team didn't know what they wanted to do it looked as though they weren't commited to run or pass.

It is possible that BB might have decided to make changes on his coaching staff.
Who knows? I hope he hires a legit Defensive Coordinator.

Matt Patricia improved considerably, probably partly due to experience and growth and partly due to more weapons to work with. But I also would like to see a more experienced defensive mind brought in. Jim Schwartz as a defensive consultant and AHC, while allowing Patricia to retain the nor main DC position?
