Does this look really fast because of video angle . If this is his speed please sign me up for some JJM in 2nd round
No that’s his frickin arm, he has cannon.

Mayes ball travel far but Mccarhtys arm is lightning.
I hope our scouts see that.
Now he played in an offense that was very much like Bill had for Mac don’t lose the game just manage the game rely on the backs don’t do too much.
But the kids upside and processing skills are off the charts, and he’s super competitive and a winner.

Who does that sound like?

Plus he’s more athletic than Drake Maye and has more size than Williams and Daniel’s.
He’s becoming the guy I saw mocks where he’s taken in the top 10.
If our scouts deem it I can accept him going at 3. Cause if you trade down too far you miss out completely.

I am excited that Mayo is bringing in experienced coaches on the offensive side of the ball. Sounds like McAdoo is a very good QB evaluator which is what we need if we pick a QB at #3.
This is where I am at. I am happy we have a guy who is supposed to be a good talent evaluator and also a former head coach. We now have a former quarterback at OC and a former head coach on the offensive side of the ball and since we will likely have a rookie QB starting games this year I think these hires make sense.

I am down. Trade back, take OT, take him top R2, sign Mike Evans. Sign me up.

Will the chicken littles who have been bashing most of the Mayo/Wolf coaching hires dismiss this report, because it does not fit their narrative?
And Bedard had been a critic of the process up to this point.

Some people just chose to be angry or sad. I don’t understand it.

We're in totally new territory.
Bringing in a mix of guys from different teams and philosophies. Who knows what to expect.
But, one thing is sure. The Patriot offense has been stale and aging for years, so new and different doesn't mean bad.

Everyone at this level knows football. It's going to come down to the interpersonal things and the work & prep.
And with that - I think Mayo can actually continue the edge from the BB system.

Good grief. At least sober up first. See some other evaluations of him. The Michigan QB's got warts. And Evans has a lot of miles and won't be cheap. Other than that, I agree with you.

He had a better arm in Highschool than any QB on our roster has right now.

He has the arm and he’s fast. He reportedly runs in the 4.5s. At Michigan, he really just managed the game. That’s all they wanted him to do since they had a great defense and running game. He obviously did that well. They also told him not to run much because they didn’t want him to risk getting hurt.

He was also only 20 during the season. He only turned 21 a couple of weeks ago. If he can put on 10+ pounds of muscle over the next year or so, he could look better than some of the other prospects that he’s currently being compared to who are a couple of years older than him.

That arm , no way will it be available till r2.

Is he the Josh Allen of this year.. I saw the championship game and was really flustered .

Here. Now you guys can go at it.

Agree this kid is my favorite overall talent of the draft I see make throws in tight windows like you have to do on Sundays, I don’t see that as much from Maye and Daniel’s.
To me the 2 QBs wbo look like they can process a defense is Mccarjty and Nix, and based on size amd arm strength I want JJ.

I see Aaron Rodgers in JJs game I hope Wolf does as well.

I agree with those throws into tight windows. Particularly in the middle of the field where you need velocity. I don’t see that from Daniels. I’m not sure about Maye. That’s where the best quarterbacks make their living. At least Brady did.

They are pretty much just aimlessly bashing, almost like they some of them are rooting for Mayo to fail for some bizarre reason.

But overall I think Wolfe/Mayo are off to a decent enough start. A week ago we were hearing that it’s the end of the world, no one wants to come here, get McDaniels on the phone, E-P is here to stay. Now that we’ve made several competent hires they aren’t sure what to do with themselves.
At least for me I don't think aimlessly bashing is the right term. I do feel a little lost post BB.

Personally I like Mayo at HC and Covington at DC. I think D is our only good unit so keeping continuity there is valuable.

I had hoped for someone who would move the needle more than Van Pelt on offense but I like that he has experience because of Mayo's lack there of it was needed. I probably bashed him a little more than I should have.

And adding Macadoo for some more experience actually makes me like Van Pelt a little more since they are getting him some more help. Again not sure Macadoo is a name that moves the needle but as an assistant and not HC or OC it's pretty good to have him.

Ultimately there were probably very few guys that would have moved the needle and even those guys have their flaws too. We're going to have to see what these guys can do.

McAdoo should also be the QB Coach...it's still vacant. IMO Rothstein should probably go back to analytics (Mac said he was a great help with QB's).
