I like lad too. But go back to the Houston game.. that's what pop could be on a weekly basis. Pop would have had better production if they stop trying to run the ball when it wasn't working.
They tried to feed the ball to Pop against the Titans and he had less than 40 yds. To be fair, he was over thrown on that deep ball but less than 40 on 6 or 7 receptions isn’t too hot. Playmakers make plays when fed the ball. He’s too inconsistent.

OL needs to come first at this point. Everything else is second.
OL & DL.. have to be able to run and stop the run.. both lines are failing.. Barmore, Bentley, peppers, ximmines, huge losses that are excellent playing the run.

The OL cannot create holes coupled with the piss poor play calling.. continuing to run when not is there instead of throwing to open up the run was just asinine.. Drake is growing into a star in spite of his coaching. My prediction of him being a top 10 QB be seasons end is coming into fruition.

Pop and his abilities would excel in the slot on any team. Keep him in the slot like buff does with Shakir.. pop is asked to run outside routes that are low percen pass plays. He's a slot intermediate WR. They are wasting him throwing outside.

Not feeling Pop Douglas either seems like an average WR. Last year I wanted Tank Dell instead Pop's 24 numbers are pedestrian.

Smith Njigba had 180yds all by himself yesterday.
Another example. Quick twitch WR like pop need to stay in the slot that's how they excel.. if avp was gonna call deep pass plays then baker should have been in there. This whole offense everything except Drake I'm just done with.

PF2 I'm telling u keep him primarily in the slot.. he just had a big game 2 weeks ago again Texans.. that is what pop is.

It's bad coaching. He doesn't have the height to be an outside receiver nor does he have Tyreek speed to threaten defenses going deep. Putting him on the outside basically elimnates one side when corners use the sideline as leverage against him.

It's all about the big boys, offense and defense. We spend too much time worrying about the dancers and prancers. Get one star DL/DE to go with White and Barmore, second round, one guard and one tackle and we could improve markedly.

And a Fan knows that but our Coaches don't??

Exactly correct. He's a slot guy that can get yards after the catch. If AVP adjusted yesterday the pass game could open up the run game therefore allowing pop those underneath routes.

We all love some Pop but we need to stop pining our offensive hopes on a 6th round pick from Liberty with 1 TD. He has a role but Canton isn't in his future.

He's a slot WR, in a functioning offense with the ability to adjust becuase this coaching staff doesn't know what adjustments mean. Teams know pop is the best WR on the team right now so he commands attention. What he did against the Texans in a team with a functioning offense he could do every week out the slot.

Think that's my point. We all like some Pop but it's kinda frustrating that this is true. Simply isn't sustainable if we are to ever push on to better days. Pop will always contribute to some degree but we need vastly improved production all over the WR group. The two potential busts drafted in April don't help us achieve that goal.

Absolutely agree with you. Wozzy minimizes the WR position. These guys are game changers.. having WR'S that can help the QB as well as the running game is a necessity in today's NFL. Look at what Wilson does for NYJ.

Even the worst teams in the NFL have some talented pieces. But the Raiders for example have worst talent and a backup QB starting. The Colts and Titans have no QB’s.

We’re not just losing due to a lack of talent, it’s largely due to coaching as well. Some boneheaded game management decisions, an undisciplined team that that creates a lot of penalties and that can’t adjust to what opponents are doing.
It's mostly talent. If some of our receivers can make routine catches and the line isn't a total wet tissue, this team has a respectable record right now.

Defensively the Jaguars, Texans, and 49'ers games were the only bad scores we let up. And even then a lot of that was our offense not staying on the field and killing our defense.

There are coaching issues that can be worked on. But a lot of it is just that our players are generally going to be out matched on most plays. Especially on offense.

Just looking back to Calvin Ridley yesterday. Caught one in traffic and was almost chopped in two. However, he held onto the ball and it didn't even wobble. Compare that to Thornton who dropped that perfect pass from Maye against the Jets where the contact was a million times less. We can't accept that crap and anyone who says he should be back in the team is accepting such crap.

The 3 and whatever Jete?

@Wozzy might minimize the position, but if you win the trenches you will win the game. Somewhere, you need to have The Guy. TE, WR, RB... somewhere, who makes plays when you need it. But if you cannot execute your offense because your line sucks, You end up with nice QB play like yesterday and lose to a team that has 1 win. They have to fix the line, and they need a weapon somewhere on offense. If they fix the line first, the existing weapons, notably Henry, Pop, Boutte, Bourne and maybe Stephenson improve dramatically because the QB has time to raise everyone up.

This has been obvious for awhile. We have guys who could be a good #2 or #3 MAYBE. But we overrate the **** out of them because they are the best we have.

How many teams would be happy to say "Pop is our best WR"? No good teams
