Well since the NFL has not issued a statement, we don't know what happened. With your elevated conscience, I'm suprised you would withhold judgment until the facts have been revealed. For example another post of the board points out the definition of where you can't videotape (the coaches box, the locker room and the field. The poster then links to the NFL's rulebook of the filed.

Where the cameraman was standing he wasn't on the field according the the NFL's DEFINITION of the field. It may very well be that BB felt there was a loophole in the rule created by the NFL's definition of the filed. IF so then what the Patriots did was not cheating but playing within the rules to gain a competitive advantage.

I've made clear my giddyness over the start of this season was shattered to little bits, but I could never not want them to win.

As far as your reason for quitting the team, it doesn't make sense.
The difference between legally stealing signs and the videotaping of signs
is all what this is about.
I expected the public to not understand, but the players chiming in with their ignorance is shocking.
The patriots really didn't cheat anymore than any other team.
"Thou shalt not use a camera for stealing signs" was the rule.
I simply blame Belichick for the entire mess.

Exactly. How can people not see the difference?

On top of that, as they said on the Big Show today, it'd be hard to prove we truly broke the rule and were using the tapes in the very game that was being played. I don't think that's how it was being used, as I don't even think that's feasible in terms of logistics.
