Would like to through my opinion on how the offseason should look lemme know what you think

Resign: Wilfork
Bodden
Mankins
Ghost

Free Agents: Jason Taylor
Nate Burleson (I think he's make a great #3 F*** Branch)
Antonio Pierce (If healthy)

Draft: 1-Jared Odrick/Brandon Graham/Sergio Kindle
2a-Jonathan Dwyer/Sean Lee/Jon Asomoah
2b-Jason Worilds/Aj Edds/Aaron Hernandez
2c-Mardy Gilyard/Andre Roberts/Dexter Mccluster

Lemme know if this offseason is possible

Excellent Post sir! I have seen the coaches reports and comments that Cody makes the opposing Teams change their offenses. What other player in this Draft can say the same? No he will not be purchasing from the Victoria Secret "extra petite" aisle but I do not care what he looks like if he is a football player. Remember the Ravens playoff game and we needed a stop near their goal line and their O-Line that is decent but not great pushed our D-Line to Rte. 495? I think he and Wilfork in Tandem makes this D-Line immediately a major obstacle running up the middle on the Pats. Mayo will benefit the most.

We get a pass rusher like a Peppers which we must consider spending for even if we do not want to (and Hughes a little later in the second) and a SILB like a Spikes (or bring in Antonio Pierce until they see how the McKenzie experiment works), take the Maroney for Cromartie deal if that is at all possible and sign Bodden and you have something of a major D-Upgrade in 2010.

I would also explore the Chris Gocong trade in Philly. He was miscast as a 4-3 DE and more suitable for a 3-4 as stated. He has decent 4.7 speed and had a short shuttle better than Leon Washington in that Draft. He is 6' 2" and 263. Some have said SILB (think Teddy as in former DE in college) but how about the Vrabel role opposite Peppers? Philly will move him it has been stated. He is only 26. The Vrabel comparison intrigues me. He was a spectacular pass rusher in college.

There! All fixed for 2010.

I would rather exchange picks (#22) with the Skins so they can get a QB late in round one and take their #37 in the second and Chris Cooley as a TE option. What a great upgrade there and he is only 27. But the Cody comments were excellent.

Some great posts on this thread. Looking at some of the idea's coming out here really gives you hope for a quick turn around for this defense.

Not a dream draft, a Nightmare draft. That draft doesn't address any of the Patriots immediate problems especially with high picks in that mock. Doesn't address the pass rush or the WR position................ NO THANKS on that one.

Jerry Hughes and Austen Lane would both be Pass Rushers from the OLB position for the Pats. .

True, it doesn't "address" the WR position, but it does address the TE position, the OG position, punter position. And that it all done without taking into consideration that the Pats could have as many as 4 7th round comp picks as well.

His draft ALSO gets the Pats an SILB to pair with Mayo. Something the Pats need.

So, it would seem that you are basing your "NIGHTMARE" position on a lack of knowledge on your part.

That being said, I have to agree with Ochmed about Dan Williams, though Williams put on a nice display tat the seniuor bowl.

I love the draft. It would change the face of the team overnight. It adresses the ILB we desperately need with McClain. I don't care for Williams as much as the immovable Cody so I will pick him at 22.

Hughes,Spievey and Lane are a coup one could wish for in an entire draft unless it's this year. It's so deep. So we have ILB,DT,DE-olb,CB. Also add a sleeper wr in Ford and a very good punter.

That's a lot of needs shored up in one draft. I'll take my chances with Ford and Tate. We also have depth coming in with some of the guys on the o-line and McKenzie.
