Pats claim WR Michael Floyd

And Larry Fitzgerald said Floyd was his brother and couldnt let his true feelings known for concerned of getting in trouble.
Who would know him better than his team mate?
The Cardinals are now trying to save face since Floyd will soon be catching passes in games that matter.
Nobody was hurt why should he show any remorse to that guy.
People have certain prinicples and apoligizing to a prick in a suit isnt typically anything any of us would like to do.
Especially if he realized he had too many pulled off the side of the road and attempted to sleep it off.

This could all spiral out of control for the Cards. Locker room loved Floyd. Larry Fitz decides it's time to hang them up after the season. In turn, Carson Palmer decides it's not worth sticking around without Micheal and Larry. That would trigger a rebuild which Ariens may or may not survive.

By my count that is 4 locker rooms/organizations that were Hiroshima'd after a Pats loss.

AZ
LA
DEN
NYJ (They seemed to go turtle-up after the 22-17 loss at home.)

I think Fitzgerald wont retire because of it but im sure he feels his friend was mistreated.
Its similar to when Collins was jettisoned however how good has Noy been its been crazy
Am I the only one who isnt sure Collins makes that third down tackle that Noy made on Booker in space.
Noy had perfect leverage and had a great angle and was patient.
I strongly feel Collins would of flew it to make a flashy play and could of missed the back converting a long third down or even a TD play.

No idea why the Lions traded this guy.

While I can't put my finger on it, there is no doubt the D is playing better since Collins was traded.

I feel the guys are perfectly in sync and know their assignments and are executing as such.
I feel the two MVPs on defense are Tre Flowers and Malcom Butler.
Its very difficult not to shout out Malcom Brown and Pat Chung for stellar play as well.
Do not want to lose Patricia.
I feel like Collins not staying to his assignment and being superman was hurting the D more than helping it and it shows.

I think it's amazing how quickly Van Noy has picked up this defense. Yes, he's gotten beat in coverage a couple of times, but he reminds me a lot of Mike Vrabel in terms of what he can do.

Moving Ninkovich to OLB in a 4-3 look has allowed Trey Flowers to blossom beautifully.

The Pats lining up with their entire front 6/7 standing harkens back to the 03/04 defense days.. It makes it nearly impossible for the O-Line to block effectively because they don't know who is rushing and who is dropping back.

You have to love it. The Patriots grab a player off waivers and it causes a ripple that turns into a tidal wave around the NYFL. Boy is it fun being a Pats fan.

It's simple, they are all just doing their jobs and playing on the same page and as a team. As talented as Collins is he's a liability when he's playing for stats instead of playing as part of the unit. I think Belichick was dealing with a defense where a number of key players were more focused upon their impending free agency than they were their opponent that week and playing as part of a unit, the Collins trade and the Sheard benching were his way of getting them focused on the job in front of them. However that only works if they succeed in the weeks after those moves, and that's exactly what happened, so now you have a defense that believes in their coaches and is focused upon doing their individual jobs as part of the unit.

This deserves to be a thread of its own. Van Noy has to be the #1 surprise of the year on defense. Coming in so late to a complicated position, playing at a starter leven and even wearing the green dot! Plus unlike Collins he's signed for next year on a modest contract. And the Lions practically gave him away??

I'll buy that. No question the focus is there- especially Sheard. Hes been playing very well lately.

Agree totally. I dare say it for being accused of totally out of my gourd but with Van Noy dropping into perfect LB depth in coverage he is reminding me of Tedy. Clearly not as good but role in the D is what seems similar to me.

Van Noy has done well but my big surprise has been Chung. I realize he has played well since returning but imo he has played at an All Pro level this season. Can't imagine what they would have done without him as he has done more to cover for their liabilities at OLB than anyone else.

Have those Bidwill comments about Floyd being unapologetic been discussed here? I only ask because Bidwill seems EXACTLY like the kind of guy who drinks and drives. Irsay type.

Isn't Sheard on the Books for another year??

Really good to see Trey Flowers coming along. I think it helps having him at end and Nink at OLB. Plus more versatility since you can still move Nink around if you want. Can Mingo rush the passer? Would like to see more of him.

Wouldn't worry about what Bidwell said about Floyd's motivation. Seems like it's your typical shot at a player once he's out the door to justify releasing him when the locker room was against it. Brady actually said today Floyd looks focused.
