Well, if Dolphin fans hate that we got him. Must be a good move.

This is more evidence that the Phins have a stronger and better roster than the Pats. The only thing separating the 2 teams is a better coach and an established franchise QB.

I have to say that I LOLed at this... Clearly this fin fan forgot that they claimed Will Yeatman from the Pats.. As for Edds.. Claiming him to be the 53rd man on the roster hardly shows the Dolphins to have a stronger and better roster.

You guys are crazy. Guyton has been a solid NFL player not just on special teams but on defense for years. Edds has never played a snap -- and you're talking about him replacing a proven guy. There's absolutely no reason to think this guy is an upgrade over Guyton, who I think will have a great year behind all those d-linemen.

There is no reason to think that Sergio Brown and James Ihedigbo are upgrades over Brandon Meriweather or James Sanders.. Yet, the former are in and the later are gone,..

As for the Guyton vs. Edds comparisons... Edds was a favorite amongst the draftniks of this board in 2010 and there were a lot of groans when the Phins took him. Edds brings versatility the way that Guyton does. Edds was an excellent coverage guy in college while Guyton has been ok as a pro. Guyton is certainly faster in shorts and a tee-shirt than Edds, but I believe that Edds instincts make up for that when the pads are on.

In the end, we'll have to wait and see what happens.

The thing I really like about Edds is that he lined up against Moaeki (who is one of the better young catching tight ends) during practice at college and if he can perform well in that role then the nickel package just got upgraded. But i wonder if he really can acclimatise to the NFL enough to make an immediate impact after having had a whole year out through injury.

The Edds pickup is interesting...I think he may be on ST and he can play ILB & OLB from what I am hearing.....

BB will give everyone time to play themselves on or off the roster.....let's hope they can still win while tinkering with some of the positions/players...

Being as you're in Michigan, I'm assuming you base this on seeing a lot of Big 10 games? Any more insights on how exactly he "blows"?

Edds for Yeatmen I would do that trade if it was offered. Yeatmen/smith were nothing special. This Edds fella fills a bigger need. Edds has far more potential than Yeatman or Smith
