I can almost guarantee that the Pats will trade some of the 11 picks away for future picks in 2010 or maybe a deal for a veteran player this year but I will just have a mock for the 7 rounds with the unlikely assumption that they will keep them all ....

Round 1 - CLAY MATTHEWS OLB - Too good to pass up if English is off the board, his stock has dropped a bit so its possible he will be here - The bloodlines from BBs former player in Cleveland may be hard to overlook.

Round 2 - ROBERT AYERS DE - I like what this player brings to the table and I have a feeling he is going to be a very solid player in this league

Round 2 - HAKEEM NICKS WR - This is a surprise pick but we can all expect BB to make a move that says WOW - This is my WOW pick - Moss and Galloway won't be around forever so why not?

Round 2 - WILLIAM BEATTY OT - No doubt this team will be looking for protection for Brady in the draft,I think Beatty might provide some value here.

Round 3 - D.J. MOORE CB - Another player that should be gone in day 1 but I hope that he is overlooked and falls into early day two, this would be a steal.

Round 3 - JASPER BRINKLEY ILB - Its unlikely that he will be still on the board at this pick but I like what his potential could bring to the NFL

Round 4 - CHIP VAUGHN SS - With Rodney likely to retire we need some more fresh blood at Safety,Chip may fit well.

Round 5 - JASON WATKINS OT - Filling more depth behind that offensive line

Round 6 - SCOTT McKILLOP ILB - Just a stab in the dark at adding more depth in a light depth area.

Round 6 - IAN JOHNSON RB - Could be this years BJGE if needed because of Maroney's annual trip to the IR list?

Round 7 - GRAHAM HARRELL QB - Still not sure if Gutierrez will be with this team after cuts are made, this guy would also be a longshot but who knows?

If that happened I'd piss Kool Aid.

Fine effort squire.

Love it, but there's no way. Your first four picks could easily be first-rounders. Beatty for sure doesn't last that long, nor does Moore. Watkins will be gone before the fourth round I think. I love it, don't get me wrong, but we're not getting those players.

Beatty could hang out until #47, but no way he gets to #58, we'd have to do a trade to snag him if we pass at #47.

McKillop is an interesting player that may go as high as #115, no way IMO he lasts to the 6th round.

Id be fine with that draft, the only thing Id change is English over Matthews.

Is it my imagination, or did you just draft four ILBs?

Could you explain more how you're planning to use Matthews & Ayers?

I'm not a huge fan of this draft, for a couple of reasons. First, as Patchick noted, Matthews/Ayers/McKillop and Brinkley all project to SILB for me, so that doesn't make sense. Second, Ayers lasting to 34 is unlikely, Nicks lasting to 47 is more unlikely, Beatty lasting to 58 is virtually impossible, DJ Moore lasting to the 3rd round is unlikely, and Chip Vaughn lasting to the 4th round is unlikely. Cumulatively they are ridiculously unlikely. So I don't think it's worth spending much time on that combination.

What skills does Nicks possess that makes him a good pick for us?
