Preaching to the choir I think IF Boutte and Nixon looks the part Bourne is a sure Trade.

There are certain players that are just CATALYST type players. Nate Ebner was one for the Men's 7-on-7 Rugby. Bourne was that for the Pats in 2021. Good things just happened when Bourne was on the field.

I don't believe that either Boutte or Nixon are going to beat him out.

I am pretty curious how much, if any, we will see Cunningham at QB in the preseason. I bet not much. I'm guessing this week we will see zero Mac, a quarter of Zappe, and three quarters of McSorley. Next week, probably one half Mac, a quarter of Zappe and a quarter of McSorley, and then the final week, probably a quarter Mac, a half Zappe, and then MAYBE a quarter of Cunningham at QB just because.

My memory is shot but wasn't last year only one game where Mac played? Hasn't the second game become tune up and the third game end of roster looks with the joint practices the "real" tune up for vets?

We'll see I just think if both continue to practice and play well in the Scrimmages Preseason games there won't be much room in the Inn. You have to think Bourne is only here for this year only.

But if the Coaches think we can roll with JuJu, Parker, Pop, and Thorton out there.....Bourne could be a trade bait for some OT help.

JuJu can move inside/outside, Parker is the boundary guy, Pop is the Jitterbug, and Thorton takes the top off the D. Bourne is in his final year of his deal and unlikely to be extended/re-signed even if he's been SOLID in camp and one of the few bright spots last year. I don't think Boutte will make it to the practice squad without being poached..... but then again...Nixon could still make it to the PS.

Malik seems like a fast learner he's learning the WR position and now getting reps @ QB. I think we stole one here again off the UDFA market I think they are going to try their best to stash him: he has a lot of raw talent.

Really like this kid.. absolutely agree definitely stole one with him. Yes Stash him, allow him to develop. Mac's the guys but who knows what the future holds.. Once Mac drops 28 TDs this season.. I'm sure he isn't taking peanuts..

I want to see Boutte in live action before I feel great about cutting Bourne loose, because I think Boutte would be the replacement. TT isn't what we need him to be yet. If he couldn't make a splash this year in camp, over 2 rookies, he's not THE guy we need him to be. I hate saying that.
But, truth is, I really want to give Bourne a legit shot to live up to potential in this offense, but it's already too crowded. And his proclivity for drops or lack of focus and mental errors in games makes me less inclined to give him a large role, or all the reps over developing say Boutte (or even TT - to see if he can truly emerge). Ugh - it's going to be tough.

Agree. I'd love to have Bourne around...the man can play and help the offense A LOT. But Thorton brings a different skillset and we have two 6th rounders on 4 year el cheapo deals...not including Nixon vs. Bourne being a FA next year....he will definitely command something in the range of 6-7M a year... (JuJu and Jakobi were given contracts with AAV of 8M a year in FA).

Remember, there are plenty of guys who flashed in TC and fizzled when it matters. Not saying that will happen but lets not get overzealous about guys with 0 min of NFL experience. Plus how many times have we seen a WR get injured.
