Player Signing Patriots signing guard Alijah Vera-Tucker

He had torn his triceps twice, right? And his achilles? Players usually come back from those injuries good as new. It's not like he's had constant knee injuries. And he'll be 27 in June so he's still healing faster than a 30 year old. I think we'll get a very good season out of him.
He had no injuries at USC. He played in only 6 games in 2020 but, duh!, it was the corona year.

I’m there too. Spend a pick in the first few rounds on the eventual Morgan Moses replacement. Find a Lowe replacement (Jedrick Willis?) and we’re golden.
Next year's draft is deep at OT. Really Deep.

I'm just hoping no one ups the offer to Dre'Mont Jones, and pulls one of these on us.

A high risk, high reward, signing. Great player when he's healthy but he has had some major injuries. Really rooting for him to stay healthy for another reason to laugh at the Jets.

A 4th or 5th round G should be fine.
We need a plan to replace Grandpa Moses probably in 27.
That'll probably come next year in a VERY deep OT group. Let's hope Ten Commandments lasts another season.

Sounds good. WR has moved ahead of O'line as my top concern. I might even put tight-end higher at this point. I am hopeful that the focus re both WR and TE will be on drafting the right guys. I much prefer that to free agents/trades, where you get a player with fewer good years left at a higher cost. Sometimes, though, as here, taking on a reasonably-priced vet does make sense. ( I hope the price in reasonable, that is.)

It's a little daunting to see so many players headed out the door, but on balance I think player acquisition is in pretty good hands at this point. Wolf's manner is like fingernails on a blackboard - a very punchable mug on that guy - but it seems he might know what he's doing.

It's literally one if.

David Edwards is a solid LG, but has nowhere near AVT's upside. He is also not very athletic. Campbell - AVT - Wilson is perhaps the most athletic left side in the league, and will be able to do some cool things.

AVT also incredibly versatile, has started at all positions except for center.

If healthy (I know, big "if"), it could be like having Joe Thuney in his prime.

Appreciate the insight. This sounds like the perfect signing for someone who has trustworthy depth at the position, which we do in Brown. Well worth the risk for that upside

Love this signing. Calculated risk. Not a crazy overpay. good signings yesterday. I trust this management team to do smart things.

This is a GREAT signing for a reasonable price. The knock on him is his availability NOT his play on the field. It's a risk, but one that is mitigated by the cost. Bottom line we improved the skill level at LG. Now we just have to hope he can stay on the field.

If we hadn't made this signing, my back up position would have been to call for a Cole Strange reunion. BTW- I think he's going to have a decent season for some team. By the end of the year as he got distance from his patella tear, he got better and better. I don't think the Pats made a mistake cutting him. He didn't have a great camp due in great part to his injury. But he ended up being the top OLman in Miami at the end of the season.
So I read that he didn’t even play last year.

What is his health issue? Is it something we can expect to be problematic going forward?

I hadn’t read the thread yet so it has been answered.

Dude!

You are already big and strong enough. You don’t need to do anything but weight training.

Not saying, just saying.

This.

Wasn’t this what Ted Johnson’s torn bicep in as attributed to?
I think that was attributed to trying to tackle jerome betas with one arm

Dude, the Celtics won a championship with Porzingis and he was a very big reason why.

Missed 13 of 20 postseason games in 2023-24
Missed 40 games the following year.
