Patriots sign their first undrafted free agent

Hes got a hoof.

Nordin started his career with a bang, making four of six field goals against Florida in the 2017 opener including kicks of 55 and 50 yards. He would later tie the school record for longest field goal when he made a 57-yarder against Alabama in the Jan., 2020 Citrus Bowl

We've all been waiting with bated breath for 3 days and they sign a K.

BB is trolling the fan base no question.
But it is a legitimate need.

He left Michigan as the school's all-time leader in 40-plus yard field goals (14) and 50-plus yard field goals (four). He tied Michigan's record with a 57-yard field goal at the 2020 Citrus Bowl.

I was a little uneasy with the current kickers. Will Folk revert to his pre 2020 form? Is Aguayo still a bust?

Better than Rohrwasser and Aguayo and did not cost a draft pick.

I'm happy with this, definitely a spot i felt they could use an UDFA.

Well, that about finishes the roster build for the year.

....wait for it...

Pinpoint accuracy.

I beg to differ....

NFL Prospect Profile:

Overview
Based on leg strength alone, Nordin could get a look in an NFL camp, but the issues with accuracy and consistency that have dogged him for all four seasons could be hard for teams to ignore.
Strengths
  • Four years of experience as Michigan's kicker.
  • Carries a big right leg.
  • Made 57-yard field goal in 2019.
  • Able to quickly generate ridiculous amount of lift.
  • Has hang-time and leg strength to potentially handle kickoffs.
Weaknesses
  • Disappointing 72.4% success rate on field goals.
  • Poor 57.1% career success rate on the road.
  • Had trouble locking in on repeatable, accurate kicks.
  • Hits it with a lot of extra action on his kicks.
  • Just 2 of 7 (one bad snap) on tries of 50-plus yards in the last two seasons.
  • Never handled full-time kickoff duties.

I was about to draft something like this, 72% FG is not what we are looking for. Too bad they made superman remove his tattoo and lose all confidence.

I actually think Folk was fine in '19... he started off a liiittle bit off but I chalked that up to rust. After being "the guy" for a little bit, he was solid. He was even better in '20. I feel pretty confident he will be at least solid in '21. The fact he doesn't need to do kickoffs probably helps.

Patriots snooze and they lose.... Waited way too long after the NFL draft over...
