No. Godchaux is a solid NFL player but people here act like he's supposed to be a one man wrecking crew against the run and make for a top run defense by himself. He's not a game wrecker even against the run, he's just a good, solid rotational defensive linemen. Tonga, is less than that. He's a marginal NFL talent who's somewhere between the very back of an NFL D-Line rotation and someone who doesn't make a roster. Is this like a Godchaux level player except he comes with the appropriate price tag (near vet minimum) for his level?
Yes. Seems that way to me as well.
If two posters can pick that up i'm sure Terrell and Vrabel will lol.
Godchaux makes $4M this year (not bad) and $5.5M in 2026 (too much when he is 32). The Pats got a 7th to get out from under the Godchaux contract. That is not to say Godchaux is a bad player, but the Pats wanted to move on, especailly in 2026. Not a bad move and nothing to get excited about either.No. Godchaux is a solid NFL player but people here act like he's supposed to be a one man wrecking crew against the run and make for a top run defense by himself. That's what he'll cost the Stains. He was going to be 9M a year for us but we basically split the bill with them in the trade.Godchaux makes $4M this year (not bad) and $5.5M in 2026 (too much when he is 32). I felt there were too many that insisted he was much more than the description you gave of him above. Never really understood were the overhyping came from.No. Godchaux is a solid NFL player but people here act like he's supposed to be a one man wrecking crew against the run and make for a top run defense by himself. I think he was a little better than what I listed him as during his first few years here with BB's scheme/coaching. It's tough in his role as a 2 gapping run stuffer. If the team around you sucks and is undisciplined it's hard to look good. In a 1 gap scheme, you can still flash and make plays amidst a terrible team around you, but 2 gapping is such a team concept that even if you're doing your job well others make you look like **** anyway. BB had the front 7 playing a lot better and more disciplined than Mayo did last year so Godchaux looked a lot better.I felt there were too many that insisted he was much more than the description you gave of him above. YIKES
Agreed, especially with Barmore's injury situation. I'm fine with Pharms/Tonga/Roy battling it out for #4 because there are some flashes for each of them at the NFL level. But we need at least one more guy.Pharms Tonga roy are borderline nfl players . Besides Williams and barmore we need a better DT in this rotation
I would like to add a new starting DT who can play next to Williams if Barmore can’t play and for rotation purposes. I view Pharms roy or tonga as #4 DT at best. Agree on another starting caliber DEAgreed, especially with Barmore's injury situation. I would not that I'm hoping we add more edge pieces so White can play inside more, at least on passing downs. It's also supposed to be a strong draft for DL, so that extra rotational player could come from there. I hesitate to pencil in a draft pick though because some bust and even good picks can struggle as rookies before figuring it out later. We have enough cap space where we should be getting one more guy.
Ron Brace? This reminds me of when I watched Ron brace highlight films in bc. Rip
I believe that Brace was the slowest player in the combine that year.Ron Brace?
I am re-traumatized all over again.
Thanx a lot.
Never saw what the Pats saw on him pre-draft and it only got worse.
Could he possibly be related to Jordan Richards?
