Tyrone Mckenzie opcorn:
Pass the popcorn Box.
Tyrone will be starting ILB opening day (when 3-4 base). I would be surprised and actually it would not be a good sign for McKenzie if Spikes were starting opening day. Reason being that as reported by Reiss -McKenzie has been to all the meetings and film study and team activities (non -contact) during his rehab last season. He therefore should be well farther along the learning curve of a complex defense than Spikes.
So McKenzie starting alongsides Mayo is a good sign - which means he has supplanted the adequate (although not outstanding Guyton). Very rare when a rookie starts in a Belichick defense (see Chung amoung many others). Only physical freaks need apply (Seymore) -and that is not Spikes. So Spikes starting would be a ominous sign of McKenzies development (or lack there of).
