Ross, I'd urge people to listen to Andrew Brandt former Packers GM on the salary cap. He and groh pretty much said the same things.. you can do whatever you want with the Cap. If we had top end talent I doubt there would be 1 word uttered about the cap and the spending.
Look at our division, allen, Diggs, Rodgers, Waddle, hill, Ramsey.. those teams aren't getting asked questions on spending and cap ect, ect. Because they have top end talent!

I do not agree. The Bills lost Edmunds to the Bears this year because they are over the cap and the fans talk about it. All of the fans from every team talk about the cap all the time. Are you visiting other fan websites to see the discussions?

Thank you, I respectfully do not agree with you as well. So what matters to you Cap space, cap maneuver or having top end talent? So why don't you try to call NY and Miami sport's radio see what they think.

When we had moss breaking records in 07, I don't know about you but as a fan I didn't give a **** about cap or anything.. I loved that my team had top end talent and we were winning. The average fan could care less about cap space if thier team had top end talent. We have to face that reality. Let the teams owners and GMs care about cap space. Fans just want to see talent and thier teams competitive is all I'm saying

It is all the same thing. Top talent has to be within the Cap and the teams have to stay under the Cap. The Cap is the same for all teams. We have limited Cap space for 2023, and if we have some Cap space left over, the Cap amount from 2023 will roll over into 2024. We will not lose the Cap space.

Maybe you mean that BB selects more medium priced players instead fewer top priced players? That is BB's strategy and other GM's approach it differently. Also BB tries to keep the Cap spending fairly level whereas other GM's spend a lot of future cap space and then have "reset" years later. BB has spent a lot of the Cap previously and we had a "reset" year in 2020, so BB will spend the Cap more aggressively from time to time, but right now BB is saving Cap dollars for 2024 and 2025.

I agree with most of that. I think teams want to win and top end talent helps. But the Cap situation is available for everyone to see on the Internet, and if a GM overspends either a top end talent, like the Bills' Edmunds, is lost or a reset year is necessary.

Yes, 2007 was a great fun year. But I enjoyed the SB years more and we did not always have top end talent when we won the SB.

Moss was cheap.

Moss cost $3mil and a 4th-round pick in 2007.

Moss was hardly being paid like 'top end talent'.

I know.. what I'm trying to say is.. did most of us care about cap space or the fact TB12 and randy were sensational that season.
Cared like we normally did. Especially since Welker came in, in retrospect for cheap, but they dumped a little guaranteed money on him.

People who don't have a basic understanding of how the cap works or care to learn don't care about the cap.

Miami..? Tua is on his rookie contract, once they decide whether to pay him or not, they'll have to worry about the cap. QB's are the most expensive position in football. A good QB on a rookie contract is a cheat code.

You don't have to care about the cap, there's no law as football fans, that being said the salary cap directly affects team building and the talent on the field. Any team can run up a bunch of debt and field a talented team for a short time, doing it for two decades is another matter entirely.

I remember people were pissed when we signed Welker to that offer sheet because of the high draft pick we had to give to the Fins. People complained that Bill was giving up a second for a punt returner.
