The cold war between the Colts and Patriots ended when Indy GM Ryan Grigson was fired. He’s the one who made the initial complaint about deflated footballs in the 2014 AFC title game, won by the Patriots, 45-14. We know what happened after that. Now that Grigson is gone and replaced by Chris Ballard, formerly of the Bears and Chiefs, they made a trade last week when New England acquired Allen to replace Martellus Bennett opposite Gronk. A couple of days after the Deflategate game, Allen tweeted, “not a story. They could have played with soap for balls and beat us. Simply the better team. We have to continue to build!” That should lead to him being immediately embraced by Patriots Nation…
