Patriots kick the tires on Tet

Do we know what year that video was taken?

It was taken after his freshman year. However at no point have they made any attempt to rebut the content, and now Jeremiah is reporting that front office people he has talked to are concerned that he isn’t a motivated player. And if you can’t get motivated to make millions playing football then you should find another career. I don’t care how much “ talent” he may or may not have, I don’t want players who don’t care.

If front office people actually talking to him are concerned, that's legit. I don't put any stock into him not putting out a statement. What do you want him to do? Tweet that he loves watching film now. Post an IG clip of himself watching film and caption it "my happy place". I don't care about the corny performative nonsense. Quite frankly, I'd rather someone who isn't caught up in managing their image publicly. I think we saw last year some of the young receivers fall victim to hearing too much of that noise. If front office people were coming away impressed with him I wouldn't care about whether he publicly addressed the video or not.

That being said, also take with a grain of salt. Knowing those seeds have already been planted with that video, if someone did want him, it's low hanging fruit to leak some stuff like that hoping it catches on and he falls to you.

Disagree. If I’m his agent, who is currently watching his stock drop, I would have had a presser discussing his work ethic now, and making it clear that he video in no way represents who he is as a player now. Unless he’s just lazy now as he was then.

Bottom line for me is that want nothing to do with this kid. I think he’s a dog.

Never wanted him at 4 and it’s nice to see his stock continue to drop:

Scouting report has his comp as Drake London, I’d rather just try trading a second for Drake London

Don’t you find it really strange that neither he or his agent have made any attempt to rebut the video. To me that means that he hasn’t changed, and according to Jeremiah front office guys he has been talking to think he’s a dog.
I find it strange because I would think that to be the best you would want to watch film to give yourself an advantage, but given the fact that Gronk did not watch film makes me feel like it is not as big a deal as I originally thought.

Didn't Diggs make reference to not enjoying it, but still does it? It makes me feel better about him because he wants that extra advantage.

I want no part of him, but its mostly because I am not as enamored on his tape as a lot of pundits. If they did hold a presser, I would personally look at it as him/agent trying to CYA and would not necessarily believe it. I am sure that he is having that conversation on his individual visits.

I don’t care about them publicly rebutting the video. It would come off as desperate anyway. It was smart not to address it publicly. It would probably concern teams more if they did. All it does is give validation to the video. You address concerns about the player directly with the teams not through the media.

It matters what the team’s research on the guy digs up. If he really doesn’t watch film, it will be discovered.

Are teams really concerned about his motivation or are they saying that so Tet will drop to them. Teams do trash the players they want to draft and talk up players they think are garbage this time of the year to manipulate who falls to them in the draft.

I wouldn’t take what teams say to reporters about prospects on face value. If a team really wants him and they are drafting in the teens, it is in their best interest to make other teams think he is lazy and doesn’t prepare.

Sure teams could have legitimate concerns about him, but I take any reports about it with a grain of salt.

And I have no idea whether I would even want the guy and just talking about the gamesmanship of teams this time of the year

Drake London is better. So, #38 for London? YES PLEASE!

As there always is, there will be a WR hiding in the draft that will be better than the top rated guys. Pats are going Hunter, Carter or T at #4.

No way they take MacMillan. Vrabel is clearly trying to build a winning culture, and MacMillan is a dog. Vrabel is not bringing a lazy WR in period, let alone taking one with the 4.

Agreed and I think we end up with Will Campbell, nobody gets excited but he turns out to be a hell of a player

Then why even bring him to Foxboro?
Is it possible Vrabs sees him as a AJ Brown.
And wants to get to know the man to make the determination himself?

This might sound like a weird statement but I'm scared of his arm length but if we actually draft him I'll be less worried about it and will love the pick.

I guess I'm just saying that I need someone to tell me it's ok to ignore the arms and us drafting him at 4 would be Vrabel, Wolf, and the rest of the scouts telling me its OK.

Scar said to view the player as a whole, not just his arms length. If it's ok with him, I am more than ok with it.

He's also said don't go OL that high and that 4 is for a more premium player.
So.... who's that? Warren maybe? It ain't this kid. That's the thing. There's no TD scorer or QB rusher at #4 if it goes (in some order) Ward, Hunter, Carter.

Yes and Atlanta is going to appease Patsfans and get rid of a young promising player. Like they don't have Second Year QB themselves who could use him... yeah delusional PatsFans.

Scar kinda covered all his bases.

He said length can be overcome. He said if it doesn't show up on tape, then all is good. He also said if it shows up on tape, then it matters. The problem here is that most of Campbells' in-depth scouting reports include concerns about his reach. It's on the tape.

This is why I am not in the growing consensus that feels the team likes Campbell at 4. I think they really like him but don't necessarily see him as a great OT prospect.

One big difference from this year and last year: If the pick is Campbell at 4 it will show that Vrabel, Marrone, Stretch, and Cowden (with Wolf as the lapdog in the room) are confident with it, and that's enough for me. However until that actually happens, I don't think that's the name the Pats will call at 4.

Warren screams generational talent to you Gronk Jr?? We don't Need TE that bad: I mean not Top 10 bad Hunter Henry and Hooper will be just fine thank you.
