Patriots Hall Of Fame Needs Revision

Currently, the Pats induct one new member every year. This year it is Troy Brown.

IMO, The Pats need to induct more than one player per year. If they continue doing that, there will be a lot of players that should be in that will be passed over. In fact, the qualifications should be changed slightly, as follows.

One inductee from the era 1960-1979.

One inductee from the era 1980-1999

One inductee from the era 2000 - eligibility year.

That way there will be players that are deserving, from earlier eras, that will not be passed over by the selection of players from more recent eras.

For example, the year that Tom Brady and others from the current era get inducted, there will be several players from earlier eras that will not get inducted under the one per year guideline, and that is wrong.

Agreed. I go back to the early years but very few current fans do.

Nor is it the Hall of fond memories. That said, they do need to start adding a veteran committee selection if not annually then every other year until they clear some backlog. I think they have a process in place but it's every 3 or 5 years or something. Soon there will be a present day backlog building as the dynasty players who have retired begin to become eligible nearly all at once. Guys are going to have to wait a bit but hopefully only a year or two. Bruschi, Vrabel, Rodney, Law, McGinest will all be eligible in the next 2-3 years.

Although it was a nice gesture I would take the voting out of the fans hands; collectively they are going to vote for whom they remember the most - that's always going to be younger, recently retired players.
