Mac Jones is missing wide open guys every game but receiver are never open apparently. If Mac was making just 50% of the plays
He is missing those receiver wouldn’t look as bad.

For example the separation stats is flawed and doesn’t tell the whole story. I think the stats is calculated based on the throws where the receiver is targeted and when the ball arrives to the receiver.


So for example, a receiver that run 5 routes:

- on 4 of them he has 5 yds of separation but the QB doesn’t throw the ball his way
- on 1 route, he has 3 yds of separation but has to wait for the ball to come allowing the DB to close up and catch the ball with only 1 yds of separation

This receiver will be credited with a separation of 1yds.

This stats is impacted by the QB performance.
