Patriots cut Payroll

Thanks for the link, Miguel.

FYI all - requires an ESPN insider subscription (which I don't have). Would it be possible to someone to paraphrase the Patriots portion and post?

On 7/28 the Patriots' cap number was around the $123 million with about $10.6 million being dead money. At that time I had the Pats' cap number around $121 million which is why I state on my page that my numbers are off by about $2 million.

They replaced them on the roster with rookies.

Yes, with 2 players since Ducasse couldnt nail down the job.

Faneca was cut because his pass blocking is suspect. He received the majority of his money and now the Jets are paying 2 players to hopefully fill his position. And, it remains to be seen if they can do it. Thus far, that side of the OL has looked shaky.

Jones was replaced by LT.

Did anyone else look at the title and wonder 'Who is payroll? When did we sign him?'

Then my brain kicked in!
