2016: Hogan, Cooper

The coaching staff seems to be winding up for the season in kind of the same way, FA acquisition-wise.

There's a different feel to it though...

We were essentially 2 points away from winning the whole thing. There's a feeling of, "we aren't going to let this season end because of a mistake. There will be no question who the best team is this season."

Brady and Belichick are holding the twilight of their careers at arms length, like a pesky little brother. Brady isn't the only one making the conch call, as Scar put the gloves back on and climbed into the ring one last time for Bill. It's a much more serious tone to the offseason, especially after all of the unfound accusations.

2007 was more about having fun destroying everyone. I have this overwhelming feeling that BB will field one of the all-time greatest teams in one of the next 2 years, undefeated or not.

Sending a message that they are all-in for ring #5??

I have so many problems with this statement, I wonder if I should just ignore it. Why even respond. But okay I'll bite.

(1) the Patriots don't use Free Agency to "send a message". Belichick doesn't care what the league or the fans think about how he builds his teams. He has been utterly consistent in making whatever moves he thinks are best for the team.

(2) "all-in" for ring #5...when has that not been the case? The Patriots front office is always competing to win and building to improve.

(3) But if "all-in" implies that there has been a change in philosophy, something different like mortgaging the future to win now which would be a change in philosophy, I promise that is not the case (and trading Chandler Jones is proof of that, by taking a view that extends beyond the 2016 season).

I like what they've done (a lot). Barring the injury bug that always seems to see key Patriot's wind up on the IR, this offense could be great. I think we see RB Deion Lewis start the season in the PUP, and I don't see him being extremely explosive right off the bat. So I'm hoping to see some Olineman and RBs taken by the Pats in the first few rounds of the draft, seems to be their biggest weakness right now.

Offensively if we aren't hit too hard by injuries, they should be able to put up 25+ points a game, even against the best defenses, as long as they shore up their weaknesses (Oline & RB).

Yup when the 2016 goes undefeated.

Very different off seasons and hard to compare. But I like what the Patriots did this year.

They added good players and a few low risk super high ceiling guys.

Until we go 19-0 the `07 season will always be brought up, honestly if our team would of stay '14 heathly last season i think we go 19-0
