The Pats are still slightly behind the 49ers in length of dynasty, but they're closing fast. The Pats are at 16+ years and the 49ers had 18 years (that's counting the 13 years that Rice cheated) of SB level play. They only missed in the short season of 1982.
Patriots fans today, are enjoying what the Niners opted to dispose of when they sent Joe to KC.

The 49ers didn't have to worry about a salary cap, 1960sPats. Apples and oranges observation.

I like oranges more than apples, but I like both.

One of the bright spots during defamegate was when Jerry Rice chimed in. That opened up the door for more scrutiny and we found out that in his first year he had a serious case of the dropsies, which led him to start using an illegal substance, stickum.

And that was very similar to what happened when Don Shula, King of the Asterjerks, decided to chime in during 2007. His reasoning was that because the Pats' violation cost them a 1st round pick and a huge fine, they should have an asterisk if they go undefeated. The senile old fart forgot that the Dolphins were fined the same things for tampering to get Shula to Miami, where a year or two later they went 17-0*

In both cases they tried to backtrack, Rice for himself and former Miami players for Shula, but it was too late. I'll never look at those teams the same way again.

They are Halifax's team and that's all that matters...
