Patriots Add Depth With Two Bigger Wide Receivers, Quick Analysis

One of the things I've been thinking about is the punt return situation. That brought me back to Amendola and Edelman. I could be wrong, but I believe that neither of them returned punts in college. Yet they were two of the best that the Patriots have ever had..

What's interesting about both Darboh and Hansen are the similarities in their Shuttle and 3-come to Amendola.

Darboh
Shuttle - 4.27
3 cont - 6.81

Hansen -
Shuttle - 4.13
3 cone - 6.74

Amendola
Shuttle- 4.25
3 Cone - 6.81

It could be that BB intends to try them out as punt returners...

Amendola returned over 100 punts in college so you're definitely wrong

To me, a JAG is just a body taking up space, like GeeNo Gruesome or Elandon Waivers. Easily replaceable, and the sooner the better.

Riley McCarron is Jag on our PS too he doesn't bring anything to the table.

Yep.. It happens.. As I said in the other thread.. But I am correct on Edelman.. But you can't be bothered to acknowledge that..

Darboh failed physical. Who's next up from the PS?

I'm not sure I understand the question.

Schwenke was re-signed to take the roster spot vacated by Darboh. Currently, the Pats have Hansen on the 53-man as a "dire emergency" 4th WR for the HOU game.

It's possible that the Pats could waive Hansen and promote McCarron from the PS, simply based on McCarron's experience in the system and familiarity with Brady. OTOH, Hansen is reportedly a very good downfield blocker, perhaps better than McCarron, so they might not make that swap for this week.

Then again, neither Hansen nor McCarron is likely to be active for this game, so there's no real difference. The Pats appear to have more than enough healthy players to be competitive in the game.

Question was because they seemed really thin at WR. Answered by McCarron's promotion from PS. I expect at least one of the new WRs active. Probably McCarron.

How are you adding “depth” when these players haven’t done anything in the NFL? This is a common misconception from most, of not all media writers. Bodies do not equal “depth”. Adding depth is when you have players that are proven capable of playing at least at a competent level if the starter goes down.

Now that the Pats have five WRs on the 53-man, I agree entirely - AND that it's likely to be McCarron that's active.

However, if Hollister continues to be limited in practice, and if he can't go in Sunday, it's possible that Hansen is also active, especially if he's as good a downfield blocker as he's reputed to be (we should probably be watching for that if he sees the field, actually).

You're a misconception. And I apologize to your parents but you know it's been "born" out here.

Depth is a noun. You can quantify depth but depth is what it is. It's deep or it's shallow, experienced or inexperienced, talented or garbage, adequate or inadequate.

You have depth...though given this choice example perhaps it's not quite, what did you call it, "proven capable of playing."

If you have issue with any of this, contact Merriam and/or Webster. Do not contact Cambridge English as they will put your comments on twitter and roast your ass.

Now, apologize to all those media members or I'll have to send a note home with you to your parents.

BB probably doesn't know what to do with the roster spot he was saving for Bolden.
