I don't understand why you all are torturing yourselves about this now. Most patriots fans rooting interest in NFC championship depends on the outcome of the AFCC game. Since NFCC starts after AFCC, I will figure out who I am rooting for at 6:30 next Sunday.

When did discussing one's favorite team's potential SB opponent become a torture?

I don't like this kind of talk because all we should be thinking about is Denver. It's going to be a tough, emotional game in a place that has seen the Pats dreams die before.

But, I'll bite and answer the question.

"Either one," with a slight preference for Carolina. Both will present challenges, but I think the Pats can handle them and prevail. Either one will beat Denver.

On the one hand, as others have observed, Cam presents major challenges. But I think Carolina will come into the game over-hyped and our guys are mature enough to turn that to their advantage early on. We all saw yesterday what happens when a very good team has a chance to figure them out for a half. I think the near death experience in frigid Minnesota had the Seahawks in a bad place at the beginning of the game. Congrats to the Panthers for exploiting it.

Carson Palmer is more mature and I don't want to play against a Bruce-Arians coached team. Larry Fitzgeral is other worldly (but that's what people said about Beast Mode last year). I think that's a much tougher game for the Pats.

There's a disturbance in The Force. PastFanSince74 broke his concentration on the Denver Broncos and old Noodle Arm. Belichick cannot be happy. This is bad. Very, very bad.

Either one. I don't see the threat in either team. I would prefer facing Palmer than Newton, because this D tends to embarrass itself vs running QBs, but I'm positive with Edelman, Brady can destroy both defenses, so... Bring on either one.

I will be rooting for the most beat up team.

IDC. We need to win our game. Forehead Manning in another superbowl would be a disaster. Could be another blowout.

I think patriots vs cardinals would be what everyone wants.

Who cares who we play.

I want to beat the best out of the NFC because we are good enough to do it.

They are also good enough to beat us. Nothing wrong with wanting the easier matchup.

Yeah I have been thinking about this. Assuming we win I think Id rather face AZ but man its really pick your poison. Both teams are pretty damn good in their own ways. If you wanna win the SB tho you're gonna have to beat a pretty damn good team. Ill be happy to face either as long as I get to watch my pats in another SB. I also agree with not wanting to see a mobile QB tho.

The donkeys would be exposed the cardinals or the panthers. We got to win in denver. I don't think the donkeys are that good.

I respect both Carolina and Arizona as they are both elite teams and either one would be a difficult matchup in the SB for the pats. However, I would definately prefer to play Arizona just for the fact of how we play defense vs non-mobile QBs. I hate the way we play defense vs mobile quarterbacks.

I do agree that either team would beat Denver, so if we lose its irrelevant

My bad. I didn't read the "if Pats make it to the superbowl" qualifier in the OP and was only going by thread title.

I don't want us to lose to this version of forehead manning. Ughhh.

Yes, a loss on Sunday will clearly be on me. I am prepared to accept the consequences.

Your punishment will involve a cinder block with a long string attached to it.

Jared Allen broke a bone in his foot yesterday. He will play through it but it could affect Caroline's pass rush.

I predicted Cards versus Pats in this Superbowl L, even before Training Camp started. I think it would be a memorable game...

If the Patriots beat Denver, I'd rather them have to play Carson Palmer than Cam Newton. So go Cards.

Per Bovada, Super Bowl odds would be as follows (as of today):

Patriots by 3.5 over Cardinals

Patriots pick ‘em vs Panthers

We have to focus on denver! Since 2012 Denver is something like 31 and 6 at home.

We have to execute better offensively.

Cardinal fans be afraid .... be very afraid.
Warning: Go take a leak before watching ...
