I'm not disagreeing with either of those points, about the laptop or his father. I just mean, when it comes to football, he looks like he takes it seriously.

His talent is not in question, and I don't think scouts are going to look at him and say that he doesn't have the intelligence to learn a pro-style offense. He has a big arm (needs to work on accuracy like a lot of top QB prospects) and great size and athleticism. He's not ready now, but coach him up and I think he can be a decent NFL starting QB.

I don't see how you can separate the two parts of his life. Yeah, when he's on the college field, he's as good as they come. But when you jeopardize your entire playing status and eligibility not once, but on two entirely separate occasions, I don't see how you can say he is taking it seriously and making right decisions.

That's practically word for word what people used to say about this guy...

"Russell is going to be a hard talent to pass up. Few quarterbacks have entered any draft with this type of arm strength." - John Clayton

"JaMarcus' talent is substantial. He's a rare combination of size and arm strength." - Browns GM Phil Savage describing Jamarcus Russell, 2007

Meanwhile, its the morning after the national championship and the Boston Globe doesn't even carry a story about who won.

Boston acts like there is no such thing as college football. That stupid subway paper, Metro, that they hand out doesn't even carry the box scores of out of area games--during the playoffs!

It's kinda sad actually. So many colleges and yet the entire region doesn't give a crap about college sports.
