Anyone here who's been bagging on Maroney starting to understand the importance of run blocking yet?

Is this all you say all night?

We get it already..geeezus your like the woman from hell.........nag nag nag!!

BTW, Mendy has done pretty well EXPLODING through creases as well as the holes they have given him.

When people who apparently don't understand running games start to admit that the problems with the Patriots running game do not begin and end with Maroney, I'll stop pointing it out. Until then, I'll keep inviting them to enjoy of hearty cup of "See?"....

And I have posted on other items in this thread.

I love it, Champ Bailey gets abused tonight, including Ward leaping over him as he tries to go low.

Even when the Broncos were 6-0 they weren't that impressive. If not for a flukey deflection in the Bengals game and the Patriots playing just a horrendus second half, Denver is a 4-4 team.

That, and I think the bye week really has hurt them.

Now THAT was a spear, but they won't call it even though Buckhalter probably has a concussion now.

Looks like the Steelers are already in playoff mode - running it at will and stopping the run with a high degree of effectiveness. They are going to be a tough team to beat come Dec/Jan.

With the Broncos giving up 28 points to the Steelers this week (after giving up 30 to the Ravens last week) they have now given up 124 points in 8 games, or 15.5 PPG. This means that the Pats are currently 2nd in scoring defense at 14.4 PPG, behind Indy at 13.5 PPG.

should have been 15 yards for sure. steelers of course celebrated it

Nice find.

Crazy to think that the Broncos had only given up 66 points in the first six games. Ravens and Steelers put 58 on them in the last two weeks alone.

Steelers have had all kinds of problems stopping Brady. Steelers are definitely a tough, tough team, but I still fear the Colts more.

I'd like to give a special "F" you to Pittsburgh for throwing the ball with Denver out of timeouts and 1:27 on the clock. The Steelers ran up the score and cost me what was an undefeated Fantasy Football season by getting Hines Ward a TD there.

On a more relevant note, I wanted Denver to win this game. If their is one place I don't want to see New England have to travel for the playoffs, it is to Pittsburgh. If Pittsburgh would have lost, it wouldn't have been out of the realm of possibility for the them to completely miss the playoffs. With Mendenhall running well, I think they have the possiblitiy of being better than they were last year.

Don Carey appears to be suffering from Walt Coleman disease. "Intercepting team" on a punt return?

i was wondering if i heard correctly myself...

the NFL needs to get follow suit of the pats, and get a little younger in the ref ranks

Denver's lack of offensive firepower will be their achilles heel. Plus the Ravens and Steelers both just outmuscled and wore down the Denver defense 2 weeks in a row. Makes you wonder what we could have done if we'd been more aggressive on both offense and defense.

Steelers-Bengals should be a war next week. Two very physical teams. I hope they beat the crap out of each other. I think Cincy matches up much better against the Steelers than Denver - more physical and more offensive firepower.

Should be the 2nd best game next weekend.

Colts still the team to beat in the AFC. Its a one pony race right now.

I think Pitt had some reason to score on that play. Look at how bunched up everything is in the AFC with so many teams at 6-2. Point differentials may come into play at some point if conference/division standings don't do the trick when the season is over.

Pittsburgh won the game when they realized they could throw at Champ Bailey. Santonio Holmes beat him a few times for big gains. When you have a shutdown corner, that makes a huge difference. When he's having a bad game, it's really going to hurt the defensive gameplan.

Yeah, Champ wasn't exactly great. Holmes was 6 for 6 against Champ. Those Denver corners are old enough as it is... so they sign Ty Law? He looked very confused out there tonight.

Looked like Law had a good game, I would have liked to see him come back to the Pats for one more year

Steelers are looking very good after they're rough start. Having a 4 man pass rush does wonders for making Kyle Orton look like Kyle Orton. Something the Pats don't seem to have the personnel for.

I'd like to see NE get another crack @ Pittsburgh, especially after last year's game.

Actually, I thought Ty did quite well considering that he didn't really know that many people on his team and had to ask them where to line up at most of the time. Add on to this that Law has never played the Nickel role before. Roethlisberger was not really able to pick on him all night.
