What an idiot Carroll was today against the Rams. Fourth and one to save the game, and he hands the ball off to Marshawn Lynch. Game over.

1. The conversation in Seattle this week will be about offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell's decision to run Marshawn Lynch on 4th-and-1 in overtime with the Seahawks trailing by three. It was the sensible call, even if it would have shown true guts to throw a slant pass like they did in the Super Bowl. Rams defensive linemen Michael Brockers and Aaron Donald disrupted the play in the backfield, getting Lynch to the ground and earning the Rams' third win in their last four tries in St. Louis against Pete Carroll.

Interesting how that happened in the Seattle game and in the Colts a gem they run an almost exact play as the SB play and it results in a TD for Moncreif

**** STUFFED ****

Same thing would have happened back in February!

The biggest problem is that it was a slow developing run play against an aggressive, penetrating DL. If you run it really should be a quick hitter up the middle or a pitch outside.

Reminds me of this article, one of the few times I'll ever cite a Globe article.

Statistically, Seahawks' Play Call Not As Bad As You Think

From 2012 to 2014, the Seahawks have been under league average with rushes from the 1-yard line. These are extremely small sample sizes, but they're based on Lynch and Wilson, and Lynch is the one dragging the average down.

I'm not saying it's stupid to run Lynch when you need a yard. But it's not the no-brainer every mediot or Madden rookie mode champion thinks.

But I thought running the ball was automatic?

In some perverse fashion, this is redemption for Pete Carroll.

If I'm the opposing coach it's easy to get inside Carroll's head for that one. There was absolutely no way that he was going to pass again after what happened in the SB. I'm not sure he's over the shell shock yet. This won't help either.

The last few weeks couldn't have been any better. Brady wins, returns for banner ceremony, stomps out Steelers, Peyton is done, and the Hawks fail to get 1 yard with lynch.

God is a Patriots fan

Plus, Indy and the Ravens lost.

It's a far cry from the days when Pats fans hoped for other games to go their way and they never did.

Picture this, he decides to pass to show that it works and tat his Super Bowl play call was correct. If it fails and they lose again, he will get ripped by everyone for not learning from his " mistakes". He can't do it....Weigh it altogether and he ihas to be calling a rushing play. Then is why the Rams had it stuffed, they knew he was running....

Collinsworth even alluded to this last night during the Cowboys/Giant game. He said he wasn't sure Carroll had a choice. I found that interesting and appalling. BB would have done whatever the heck he wanted to do because its part of his job to coach the situation in the game right there, not cowtow to potential public backlash. Carroll seemed neutered, whether he liked it or not. That's somewhat his fault too, for appearing so rattled and contrite in public after the Super Bowl.

Just another example of BB getting so far in somebody's head, it affects them even when they don't play the Patriots.
