WFAN's Francesa reported its from Rapaport... ...no link.

Cousens to SF, Romo to Wash, picks to Cowboys.

To quote the poet John Belushi:

"Holy $h!t!!"

That sounds like DAL would be profiting in a flip of Romo for Cousins. I think Cousins is worth more at this point, even if he's not that great.

jerruh thinking he's belichick, trading romo within the division....

Only source I could find so far....

@flipsreportNFL: 3 team trade reportedly in the works; would send Kirk Cousins to the @49ers, Tony Romo to the @Redskins, and picks to the @dallasCowboys

Nothing says 'You ain't ****' better than your team willing to send you to a division rival. Romo better make the Cowboys pay... but he'll likely be injured by week six and spend the rest of the year watching from the sidelines.

So the Redskins would be trading a young highly overpaid QB, for an old, injury prone highly overpaid QB? I could see Shanahan wanting Cousins, but what draft picks would the Cowboys be getting?

That's what i wanna know.

I would imagine the draft picks must not be that great, right?

After all, in my opinion Dallas would be lucky to be able to trade Romo given as the other team would have to consider Dallas' return request AND Romo's current salary. I figured Dallas would be a position in which they had no choice but to cut him.

What a dumb move by the redskins lol.
They're good at those.

I live in DC area. Cousins has been a one-player QB controversy for two years now. Somebody in the FO doesn't like him so after he took the team to the playoffs a year ago they did not sign him to a long term deal. Instead they franchised him. This year he did ok, arguably slightly better according to local sports talk radio, although they just missed the playoffs. So now they've got a second year franchise tag on him, and he's got them over a barrel for the next contract.

Meanwhile Shanahan was OC with the 'Skins when his dad was HC so he knows Cousins and vice versa, so if the trade happens they'll certainly get a long term deal done without much problem. Niners will be in great shape if this happens.

If Dallas gets anything for Romo they've won, right? So that won't be too expensive to block the deal.

The Redskins have painted themselves into a bad corner already. Getting Romo instead of Cousins is a downgrade, but probably also enough cheaper to buy them time to develop one of this year's stellar QB class....oh wait...

Looking at the 'Skins it's easy to see how Dallas would not fear trading Romo within the division...

Skins have Mr Hankey as their GM.

Are the skins going to resign their wrs? This move doesn't make sense long term. They have to win now.

so is this 2 girls + 1 guy, or 2 guys + 1 girl? in other words, are 1 or 2 teams getting f*cked?

Devil's three way. 49ers are getting a decent, albeit expensive QB who has brought teams to the playoffs and is likely better than any QB in the draft. Dallas getting anything for Romo at this point is a bonus. Washington just looks silly unless they get a high draft pick along with Romo. If all goes well for them Romo might lead them to the playoffs, but odds are he'll get hurt and/or his age and injuries catch up to him and he's no longer effective when he's out there.

Lol, found a quote from the Redskins long snapper about Romo being a holder:

Q: Nick, would you ever let Tony Romo be your holder and why not?
NS: No, history repeats itself. I want a guy who wants to be there.

Well, guess he'll be there....all the time.

Yeah, I can see Washington, more specifically Snyder, noted Cowboys lover, approving this madness.
