God they had a great team before and cap disaster struck!

McNair, Eddie George, Derrick Mason, Frank Wycheck

Defensivly..Samari Rolle, Jevon Kearse, Kevin Carter


how did they ever get salary screwed like that? Remember they had to let go of Mason, Rolle, Kearse and Carter all in 1 year..George left to Cowboys a year later i think or same year..Wycheck retired...McNair just recently left.

They had tremendous talent..but they had to do it because the cap. Crazy.

Remember, what the Titans did was the formula for success at the time. Thats how the Broncos won two superbowls (oh wait that was cap cheating, but since it meant Elway got to ride off into the sunset with a couple rings the NFL couldn't be bothered) and that was what everyone thought was necessary to win until the Patriots and Steelers had continued success with reasonable cap management.

What makes the Titans stand out is their inability to rebuild.
