Does anyone else get the impression that Parcells would nothing better than to see Belichick knocked off his lofty perch? It seems that Parcells is always there to lend the Jets moral support or advice. He advised Mangini when he was HC there.

I do, I think Parcells is envious of BBs success after Tuna has failed ever since the the pair have parted ways.

No, that's your paranoia surfacing. The Bill's buried the hatchet a couple of years ago. He's just doing his job as an analyst and what he said is pretty obvious to everyone but delusional JET fans and the kid QB Rex prematurely propped up as their Sanchize for motivational purposes - although I wouldn't presume Sanchez eventual/ultimate development any more than he did Romo's...or that other guy. They certainly haven't done him any favors playing musical aging WR's, but I still think he is who/what he is. A well intentioned heartattack kid who will lose you as many as he wins you.

You got all that from that article, eh?

90% of QBs are thrown in too soon these days, that's why backups that hang around for a few years perform surprisingly well.

I don't think tuna could say something less controversial if he said water was wet (a point of contention here, of course).

Parcells is the head of this coaching tree...they are one big disfunctional family, but family none the less

I read this earlier today somewhere else and I'm not getting that from what he said. The gist of his remarks is what we all know, that Mark Sanchez is not the Q.B. to put the YETS on his back and carry the team. What is anti Belichick in that?

I don't think one Bill bears the other any animosity these days. Parcells is an analyst now and he's doing that job.

I do recall a story though, where Parcells was head coach and Belichick was working for him on the defensive side. I don't remember whether it was here or when they were with the YETS. It was after Belichick had been with the Browns. Belichick put on a special defensive play during a game and it worked to perfection. The coaching staff was going nuts applauding it, until Parcell's voice cut through on the headsets, saying something to the effect of "Yeah, he's an F'ing genius, so why isn't he still head coach in Cleveland?" Never mind that at that point the Browns weren't in Cleveland, having moved to Baltimore. However, you can see the envy right there. Has it carried forward? Probably but I think that Parcells will keep that covered up, considering the comparisons that could get made. Regardless, both are going into the HOF on roller skates.

I have to agree with the others in this thread, I can't find any relationship between the way that article was described -- Parcells giving "advice" and "moral support" to the Jets to "rescue" Sanchez -- and the actual article. There literally is not one piece of advice in his quoted comments. Was the radio interview radically different?

Yes, thats it.

I knew you would have all the answers. You always do.

I suppose he was just doing his job when he consulted with Rex after a Jets loss when Parcells was Dolphins GM.

and what he said is pretty obvious to everyone but delusional JET fans and the kid QB Rex prematurely propped up as their Sanchize for motivational purposes - although I wouldn't presume Sanchez eventual/ultimate development any more than he did Romo's...or that other guy.

Parcells is driving the Sanchez band wagon.

Before the season began, he said that if Sanchez can learn to play in cold weather, he can take the Jets all the way or something to that effect.

Curious comments for a QB who through 36 games has 37 tds - 38 ints and completes 54.7% of his passes.

Parcells will always be known as never winning a thing without BB.

I heard that people say it and that it drives Parcells wild.
