Bill didnt hit on the WRs in the draft but he tried last yr with gordon , sanu and even AB. No one can definitetively say that they felt that these wont work out at that time. Heck, after the miami game, people thought it will be the 2007 offense. Could they have drafted better wideouts and TE's ? Sure. Did they draft some great pass catching backs which helped brady ? You cant deny that either. Did they give brady a mostly rounded team instead of like the colts which as all manning and no defense or special teams ? No.
The bottom line, no way brady was staying here at the age of 43 if he didnt have experienced offensive personnel who he didnt have to teach and grow every day. He has grown out of that because he doesnt have much time. He can say as many times that he just loves football. He wouldnt have loved throwing to this offensive crew that too without edelman. So as much BB decided to move on , brady didnt really show any strong desire to work with whoever is here either like he did before.- cant blame him. Thats why this whole story about BB getting rid of brady or trying to get rid of brady for a long time is really exaggerated.

So now you are backtracking? You are one of the ones who has been thumping your chest about Brady over Bill, so now that Brady is in the postseason let's see how far he can get without Bill. And it's easy to say he's doing better than Bill with all the talent he has at his disposal. If Bill were to coach another team, let's say KC, I'd bet Bill would whoop Brady and it wouldn't even be close.

I’ve heard so much hypothetical big talk...almost sounds like a Packers or Colts fan putting up their imaginary 15 banners because If MaNnInG / rOdGeRs hAd BeLiChIcK they’d have won every year Has there ever been a coach in sports history that has been responsible, via secret brainwaves and fairy dust, for the success of a player more than Belichick? It’s so weird because for all the big talk, I see evidence that only proves the opposite.

In 100+ games without Brady, Bill has compiled a sub-.500 combined record with the following QBs:

Bernie Kosar
Vinny Testaverde
Drew Bledsoe
Cam Newton
Mike Tomczak
Matt Cassel
Jimmy Garoppolo (two games)
Jacoby Brissett (two games)

Wanna know something interesting about this group of players?

Kosar, Testaverde, Bledsoe, and Newton were all drafted first overall. Bledsoe (all-pro) and Newton (MVP) both led their teams to a Super Bowl appearance; Testaverde (pro bowl) and Kosar (pro bowl) both led their teams to an AFC Championship game appearance...Kosar twice, beaten by Elway’s Broncos.

Cassel ended up as a solid starter and pro bowler. Garoppolo is a pro bowler and led the 49ers to the Super Bowl last year.

So, for the entirety of Belichick’s non-Brady career, he’s had eight starting QBs. Four of them were drafted first overall. Six of them made the pro bowl (which used to be a real honor.). Five of them led a team to a conference title game appearance and three to a Super Bowl appearance.

Under Belichick, eight seasons, six losing seasons, zero division titles, one playoff appearance.

What happened to the whole “Ne Excuses!” mantra? Does that only apply to Bill’s players but not to Bill?

Yet now that Brady has looked great and is 11-5 on a Bruce Arians team (who we laugh at), your comeback is to once again ignore reality and hop on the ItS bElIcHiCk ThOuGh bus? Lol dude...are you insane?

You should let everyone know when Bill has that roster and quarterback where he could beat the greatest QB of all-time...we’re all waiting patiently for Bill to show everyone just how great he is without Brady.

No way he was healthy. Not making excuses since his poor play was multi-tiered. He looked like he was in pain. His throwing motion was off.
So you think Cam was lying when he said that he was fine? I think he said something like it was his healthiest off-season ever.

Bill tried? Gordon was a desperate reclamation project. Cheap money, but a super long shot he could put it together. AB was another desperation move that that only came about when BB realized all of his other plans didn’t work out. BB didn’t plan for AB to shot his way out of Oakland, He didn’t plan on getting Sanu in a mid season trade either. Another desperation move and even then he picked the wrong guy. They should have gone after Sanders who was a much better fit. All three you mentioned were desperation plays. All three flamed out. Which great pass catching back have they drafted since White 6 years ago?

I guess. What do you think? I only watched a few games on TV. The rest I listened to on the radio. He didn't look healthy to me. Blame it on the vegan diet...

I can only guess why he played so poorly, but he did. There were a lot more holes in his game than inaccuracy too.

He went 11-5 with a QB who hadn't started a game since HS. Case closed.

This is a perfect game for them. If they can't beat Washington, they were never going anywhere. They'll get to face a league leading pass rush and a passing defense that's allowed under 200 ypg. They get to again face their biggest weakness, a nasty defensive front, and see if they can finally come up with a much quicker developing passing game.

This is an ideal game to test and see if the Bucs coaches have really learned their lessons while minimizing risk of actually losing given how bad WFT’s offense is. Will be interesting to see.

I also think Ewing theory may apply to Mike Evans, as Antonio Brown looks to have his football legs fully back and probably fits better than Evans for Brady as the WR1.

Ouch. Great points.

According to Cant Newton today, the Pats were not about Brady because Tom was lucky to be "in the system" for 20 years.

Cant also claims that he was as healthy as he's ever been, including his shoulder and ankle. So much for that excuse from the Cam I Am crowd.

Gotta consider that Cam can’t say to the press that he has one of the worst receiving corps in the league and probably the worst TEs.

I have been saying since Brown signed with them that him and Godwin should be WR1/WR2 and Evans as WR3 the first two fit Brady’s play style so well they’re liked souped-up Welker and Edelman

AB didn't flame out. He made a bad move by threatening his ex over the phone and was instantly cut by a man who had just broke the law by whipping out his shriveled wiener at a seedy third rate massage shop full of trafficked women.

You're cherry picking.
He went 5-13 with Drew Bledsoe until Brady stepped in.
He went 18-1 the year before 2008 with Brady.
He had quite a few poor years in Cleveland.
He has a 7-9 record since he dumped Brady.
Not only is the case not closed, the opening is getting wider.

Gotta consider that Cam can’t say to the press that he has one of the worst receiving corps in the league and probably the worst TEs.
So it's okay for Cam to belittle Tom's 20 years as well as his 12-4 season the year before with the same offense but more injuries?
Of course Cam could have said nothing about Tom, but that isn't his style.

So if those other 2 were considered generational talents how come they went in the bottom of the 2nd round?

Why did the Chiefs, Eagles, Colts and Cardinals all pass on Metcalf for other WRs?
Neck injury that he sustained in his final season at Arkansas. Not that an injury has ever stopped Bill before. I was also not aware that the Chiefs, Eagles, Colts, and Cards had the guy who people on this forum revere as the “GOAT GM.” WR was a need. A big one. Those two produced in the SEC. Bill drafted a stiff who couldn’t get separation in the PAC-12 and Williams when he could have had Brown or Metcalf. Yikes.

And then “passionate fans” like yourself and Tommy rip Brady for leaving because he wanted to maximize his chances to win a Super Bowl in the few remaining years he has left (after giving us 20 years and 6 Lombardis), and knew he couldn’t get it done with this roster. How dare him. Who the hell does he think he is? He also saw the rebuild coming. But yeah, you’re right. He should have ate a **** sandwich and stomached what was basically a one year deal after another for the glory of playing with a 7-9 roster in 2020 and a rebuild in 2021.

In their losses to the Saints, Rams, and Bears, they kept on trying to go to the deep ball when it wasn't there and when there was no time to go deep.

They have to be more selective with their deep ball as Brady will have less time.

The last few weeks are showing that the coaches, Brady, RB, and WR have improved on mixing it up, their game plan, and their execution.
