What bradys doing this year won’t do anything to his legacy. You said it, he’s 43. What 43 year old in NFL history was still an elite Qb?This is probably what Bill was thinking not wanting to commit multiple years.
Still on pace for 4400 yards 37 TD 15 INT, 96 rating.

If he can cut down the INTs in the last 4 games, it is a pretty standard Brady year overall. Not a bad year for a 43 years old QB. Not an exceptional one. If the expectation for everyone was 5000 yards, 50 TD, 7 picks, 120 rating and MVP, I understand the disappointment.

If they can find their groove in the last 4 games, show consistency and pick at the end of the year. Tamps is going to be dangerous in the playoff.

It’s as if people weren’t even listening yesterday when Romo was breaking down some very basic stuff. Either that, or it just flew in the face of whatever preconceived biases they have, so they tuned him out.

I read the Tampa forums after each game and it seems like Arians is getting about 90% of the blame.

As well he should. Brady isn’t an idiot. He’s not going to call 3-4 vertical routes along the boundary against two deep safeties if he has control over the play calling.

Something tells me that Brady had a conversation with Romo prior to the game.

Are you kidding? He got a 2 year fully guaranteed contract at age 43 when most QBs have been retired for a few years. He is on pace for 37+ TDs and 4300+ yards at age 43 in a brand new system. Just as a reminder, Montana was 37 when he went to the Chiefs for 2 years and then retired. Manning was 36 when he went to Denver for 4 years and then retired.

In terms of legacy, he has a great chance to end the year as the all time TD leader. He was 6 behind Brees to start the year and is now 4 TDs ahead of him. He will also break Favre's record for most games started if he starts the next 4 games. All of this legacy building. Let's be honest. He does not need anymore rings. It would certainly be pretty historic and almost fairy tale-like if he was to take the Bucs to the bowl this year or next but he doesn't need it. He is showing he is still one of the top QBs in the league at age 43 and has his team poised for a playoff run. Let's see if any QB currently playing comes close to that in their 40's. My wager is none of them even get there as a starter much less post the stats Brady has put up for a brand new team with no off-season.

Maybe. Maybe not. But what Romo was pointing out was some very basic stuff that anyone who has posted on this forum for years should understand by now. A great example was Evans being the hot route and failing to recognize the blitz and turn around accordingly. That led to an INT.

Well, that settles it. Tony Romo says the Bucs are going to be in the Super Bowl vs Kansas City...so there's that.

Of course this effects Brady's legacy. If he succeeds and goes deep into the playoffs he will greatly help his legacy. If his team doesn't make the playoffs, or is one and done, then comes back again next year and does the same, he will be forever BB's boy.

I think Brady's legacy is impacted more by how Bill does without him to be honest. I mean Brady is 43 and still playing at a high level so he has already proven that he can play well and win games without Bill. For Bill, if he does not turn the Pats around into a legit playoff contender in the next couple of years than the success of the dynasty will be more attributed to Brady. The other thing working against Bill is he is sub .500 without Brady so if that continues than that also effects his legacy negatively.

And it wasn’t like Brady was silent and Evans had to recognize the blitz by himself. Brady was screaming and pointing the guys that were blitzing before the snap. So Evans knew it was a blitz and who was blitzing and that’s it’s even worse. But to be honest Brady throw was awful and I am not sure it would have been a completion even if Evans would have stopped

overall yes he is playing at a high level.

28 TDs, 11 INTs, 3,300 yards, 95.1 rating in a completely different system after two decades in the E-P isn’t playing at a high level for you?

Thank you. He made it simple for everyone to understand. They don’t run to set up play action. They don’t motion to show the defensive set. They don’t set manageable down and distance.

On the 2nd pick Romo made it clear that Evans should have broke off his route as it was a blitz on his side. He should have been the safety outlet going to the spot the blitzer came from. That’s where Tom looked to throw and Evans continued into his route, causing the pick.

I agree but he definitely need to cut down the INT. But how many have come on forcing the ball deep?

Against good teams (New Orleans, KC, GB, LAR, and Chicago) he's thrown for grand total of 10 TDs. And he's 2nd in the league in INTs behind Carson Wentz. Regardless of whether he's in a different system, he's not elite this year.

Weren't you the one telling me the Bucs coaching staff was "good enough" over the summer? How's that turning out?

Absolutely. But not all of those are his fault.
