OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

KC had an off day. Maybe they still would have lost but I'm sure he could have done better than Hoyer and Stid.

I am willing to give Belichick some time to rebuild. Brady has the upper hand since he chose a talented team like Tampa and can be successful there right away.

They need to go back to what's gotten them to 6 win. Adding AB makes things complicated.

I am sure they will figure out how to integrate one of the best receivers in the game. They didn't get crushed last week because of AB but because of a horrible game plan to protect Brady along with play concepts that took forever to develop.

McCaffrey being out is huge for this game. He went out injured in their first meeting in the second half and the Bucs completely dominated.

They definitely still would have lost.

Damn as soon as TB12 has a bad game all the suspectible people come out...keep that same energy when he bounces back
All .... three? .... four? of these "susceptible" people.

The vast majority of this thread is folks sh*tting on Arians. Save for a select few, Brady isn't enduring much criticism, and the criticism he is facing is extremely mild.

The ability to thrive under a situation where defenders are coming at them from all angles depends on an outlet receiver getting open on an underneath route. Routes 1-4 specifically. When the OC is calling 7-, 8-, and 9-routes in the face of the OL getting their tails whipped by stunts and twists, the greatest QBs aren’t going to be successful. This is a large part of why the Patriots defense has been successful at slowing down Mahomes since 2018. However, on Sunday night, it was also the latter happening to Brady as the offense, in general, was trying to get out of a big hole while Bowles thought it was a great idea to give Brees Cover-3 and Quarters even though he’s no threat to uncork o

Yeah, for us NE-Tompa fans, we have just been accustomed to NE playing smarter then the other teams. It's maddening watching TB occasionally beat themselves. NE was 8-0 last year with much lesser talent. If these TB players were wearing NE jerseys, they would be looking at a 14-2 to 16-0 record.

I think a crap team would do that, no matter who the coach is. We know that the "heir" Josh is not an NFL head coach. His track record speaks for itself.

I agree that there are no excuses starting next year. If the team is no better then there will be questions about Bill's future. The optics right now are they suck without Brady and fair or not it's what we know.
They need more young talent and higher draft picks for at least 2 years. So I'd say 2022 is the prove it year for BB.

I agree. When NE was struggling at the end of last season to the beginning of this season, there was a lot of salty fans piling on Brady. But now it's a balance constructive conversation for the most part. Most of the harshest criticism is rightly reserved to the coaching.

What exactly is a NE-Tompa fan? A bandwagoner?

You mean like someone who roots for teams based in the DC area?

I live here now. and it’s a lot different than someone rooting for two NFL teams because of only one player...

No, it really isn’t. As a matter of fact, it’s probably worse. Someone could more easily make the argument that you’re the bandwagon artist due to your rooting interests with zero major ties to the Boston area and their teams vs pulling for a team whose QB played here for two decades and won said historically bottom feeder franchise 6 titles. Especially when it has zero impact on the Patriots in the 2020 season. What I’m trying to say is you shouldn’t throw stones when you live in a glass house yourself.

I grew up in the CT area. you realize that the Pats represent a whole region, right?

Again, this is irrelevant to the fact that there are people on this forum rooting for two NFL teams (which I take it you are one of them). What happened if Brady signed with the Bills, Dolphins, or Jets or another AFC team?

Unsurprisingly, you’ve completely missed the point. Good lord. And you’re a lawyer?

That didn’t happen, so that’s irrelevant. And nobody is rooting for two teams. They’re rooting for Brady because he literally put this franchise on the map, sustained 20 years of dominance while we were a laughing stock before him, set records, and won the team 6 Lombardi trophies. He also happens to play for the Bucs... a team in another conference who don’t play the Patriots this year. So, unless the two teams meet in the Super Bowl, which they won’t, why not pull for Brady to get more championships than the Steelers have as a franchise? When the two teams meet next year, I’m rooting for the Pats. I would suspect everyone participating in this thread would say the same. So my advice to you would be to quit being a butthurt, little *****boy because he left and relax.

Because I don't root for other NFL teams. BTW, if he wins another, he'd have more super bowls than US as a franchise too....

And he won the team 6 super bowls along with the help of a lot of other good players and coaches. It wasn't just him.

Neither does anyone else in the forum. They’re rooting for the player That’s a narrative that you create in your own mind on weeks they lose. You’re a ghost when they win.

So what? He’s the GOAT. He gave us 6. Your behavior and attitude toward him, particularly since he left, is a good example of why Boston sports fans are among the worst in the country.

And he won the team 6 super bowls along with a lot of other good players and coaches. It wasn't just him.

No ****? Which one of those years do you wager they win without him? Even in 2018, the team needed a clutch throw from him to seal the deal.
