NFL teams with great QBs on rookie contracts usually have a 2-3 year window. When they pay up the big bucks, that window closes. I’d really love to know how the Bucs are a one-year team, considering they haven’t pushed any cap hits down the road or overplayed multi-year deals to go all-in. I would argue they are in better position over the next 3-4 years than the Chiefs or Ravens to compete because Mahomes and Jackson’s contracts are ticking time bombs and those teams are actually all-in, and the Bucs have more rookie contract players that are contributing. Also, Brady’s contract remains a great discount.

oh btw this is why drafting well matters. Our drafts sucked the last few years. Tampa has had several great drafts. We were cash strapped this year even if Brady left. Tom went somewhere that drafted well and was capable of breaking the bank open for his last few years.

Tampa should be easy favorites for the NFC. Green Bay can’t contend with their defense, Seattle has no defense, Drew Brees is fading, the Niners aren’t as good as last year...... realistically Brady might have to win a shootout with Mahomes only he’ll go in with a defense that should be very able to show him down a bit
