OT: NFL on FOX Sideline Reporter Cites Age Discrimination In Lawsuit

This does not surprise me. All about the eye candy.

Though she didn't work for Fox, Leslie Visser was the best damn sideline reporter I've ever listened to, but when she got older, she lost out to "someone who looked great in a sweater," as I commiserated to her when she and **** Stockton used to live on the same floor in my building and Leslie was a friend of my wife. Like her (then) husband, Visser was versatile in several sports.

the nfl prefers eye candy on the sidelines, both in the cheerleaders and in the sideline reporters.

You get the job over many other butter face women because you look good and then sue
because you feel discrimination over your age related looks .... what am I missing here?

You're missing there's no 'tit for tat' law in place that allows for employer discrimination to retroactively address past favoritism.

There's a Hooters opening up not far from us and I was wondering how discrimination law applies to their hiring criteria for wait staff.

It sounds like what happened to Jenny Dell at CBS in terms of her career track. It had nothing to do with age for Dell, I think the powers that be just figured out she sucks.

Her first year at CBS, she was on the sidelines for the NFL. That is the most prestigious job, and the only way it could get *more* prestigious was to work her way up to the #1 broadcast team.

This season, AFAIK, she has disappeared from the NFL. I saw her earlier this year doing a Friday Night CBS Sports Network college football game. I was something like Utah State against Boise State or some other meaningless matchup like that.

Kind of a funny thing is her former co-worker at NESN, Jamie Erdahl replaced her.

But then again Erdahl is more attractive and way better as a sideline reporter than Dell

Wow, she looks like a younger Joan Rivers, RIP. Whoever said they would drag their balls through broken glass for her must be desperate for any woman, 'cause... No!

Holly Sonders

Her face is also too tight and her cheeks are full of botox-ins and concrete. She looks like the Joker. I'll give her about 2 more years before she starts looking like Joan Rivers too.

It's better to have premature wrinkles than to look like any of these zombies, I've seen on TV these days. They look terrible.
Yeah, and I'd worry about it tomorrow...

I have a soft spot for Colleen Dominquez. I sat next to her on a flight from LAX to SFO (about 6 years ago). I think she was the ESPN reporter for L.A. at the time. She had a few glasses of wine and we chatted it up the entire flight. Seemed fairly intelligent, definitely easy going, a non pretentious 'cool chick' who had a workable grasp of football. I liked her a lot. The knock on her was she was a big Peyton Manning fan (though more for being the mega superstar but still the long time married family man).

Even at the time I got the sense -- by some subtle suggestions from her -- that she was concerned for her looks and age in relation to her job. The cold harsh reality is the job she does is as much if not more about show business(including sex appeal) than a job to dispense sports information. And there is a point age makes the ability to fulfill the needs of this specific job ineffective. However, regardless of what most of us know to be one of the mains reason for the female sideline reporters -- sex appeal -- if the sports networks didn't spell it out in the employment contract she may have a case. And since I have no respect for most main stream media outlets I'll not shed a tear if Colleen comes out on the plus side of this.

Sarah Davis from NESN is the local rising star.
