But I also agree, penalizing someone for what they do off the clock is ridiculous. As I said, I obviously don't condone her behavior, but it's an interesting angle to think about and it makes you wonder where the line really ends.

Depends on the job. If she worked in ESPN's accounting department I might agree with you. But she's on-air talent which makes it very different. Her off-the-clock bad behavior hurts the business in way it wouldn't be hurt if she was off-air staff.

I'm not a fan of seeing her treatment of someone whose job is probably miserable as it is with angry people coming in all day to essentially bail their cars out of jail...she went way too far and did a great job of making everyone absolutely dislike her. I had no idea who she was until now and now I'm definitely not a fan, especially since the woman at the counter had zero to do with how her car got there. So that was completely out of line and deplorable.

This is pretty typical for anyone who can be considered to be 'representing' a company in public.

Plus, she has a history of being a really, really awful person. Just sayin'

Yeah, we are essentially allowing our employers to manage our personal lives. It needs to stop. These slopes get very slippery, very quickly.

She's being extremely well compensated. If she doesn't want to worry about being in a position where she's representing a company in public, she can always move on to another job.
