With Cameron gone, the cowboys now are going to hire the son of bum , who somehow is getting his third shot as a head coach... I dont know who I feel sorry for, San Diego, who will be with a lame duck coach, and a new offensive and defensive coordinator.. Or Dallas, who has Jerry Jones, that I think is the defacto coach...Wade Phillips ??!!!

was Cam cameron that much of an offensive genius with that amount of talent on the Chargers?
I don't think the new OC will have that much trouble.

and for one I am happy the brain drain is NOT happening to the Pats, I think some continuity will do wonders for the offense and defense next season.

Now they know the sting of being pillaged. I breathe a sigh of relief that ( knock on wood,) we haven't had that happen for a little over a year.
It sucks when it happens, and it should be interesting to see how this all plays out. I think AJ Smith is a smart dude who knows how to put a team together, let's see how he does with the coaching changes.

yes, i wonder where some of these playoff teams would be , with the turnover that we have had . this team is amazing

Let's hope it turns out that way! We play both teams next season.

Cam Cameron and Wade Phillips? Cameron is no big loss, but I'd say Wade has been known throughout the league as a decent D-Coord., albeit a very aggressive one.

I wouldn't say that he was a genius, but I do think he was inovative and a solid OC. He did make Rivers look good many times this season, which was not an easy thing to do. The media respect he gets comes from Marty turning the whole offense over to him after a few games because SD was sick of Martyball. He did a decent job, but your point is well taken that it is tough to fail with LT2.

It will be interesting in Miami. While he doesn't have LT2, Ronnie Brown is a very good RB. If (big IF) Ricky comes back in shape and focused, he could have a very tough running game. The issue will be the play of that Oline which has been pretty rough. No worries though, they don't have a QB.

As far as the Pats situation, you gotta wonder if BB picked his OC & DC young so he would have them for a while. I know Josh McD get a lot of heat on this board, but I don't think that anybody can argue that he has not gotten better. IMO he grew leaps and bounds this year. He will learn from his mistakes and grow. Weis wasn't great over night. It takes time over games. Think of this though. If BB has confidence in his coaches and they perform at the level that he expects them to, we then have a solid coaching system over a period of years. That may need a new thread.

Wow, we have FOUR games in 2007 against members of the SD coaching staff from the 2006 season (SD, MIA, at Mia, at Dal).

The title of this thread is possibly the best of a young season...

By giving a man they have no confidence in one more season under public pressure not to fire the winningest HC with an abyssmal post season record, the Chargers have lost all opportunity for continuity short of simply bumping up assistants who may or may not be qualified (or even stay since each coordinator has still to assemble a staff at their new digs). Thus creating an atmosphere where is it more likely than ever that Marty will once again ultimately be the guy wearing the headset knowing full well his stint in SD is winding to a close.

Don't worry about Marty, he'll be all right. I think Phillips will do well in Dallas, don't have a clue about Cameron. He wasn't too smart in the Pats playoff game.
