Because you can get Good WR's without giving up a haul or backing up the brinks these days Wozzy. And I have no data to back that up.
Funny… Tyreek was a 5th round pick, Stefon Diggs was a 5th round pick, Nico Collins and Tank Dell were 3rd round picks… you have bad data.

I believe brother that polk and baker could have an impact this season like givens and branch did.. if so Drake will make the pro bowl this season.

I was talking about if they pan out they will get Paid regardless also I loved Tank Dell last season but BB chose Marte over his head Mapu.

That's why I want Drake Maye Starting let the future play with the future and not with the Ghost of Biscuits past.

Yes!!! I believe he will.. trust me.. we don't have a future HOF QB like GB did both times in order to sit the QB..

While they were not high draft picks, it is phenomenally ignorant to refer to Patriots HOFer Troy Brown and future Patriots HOFer Julian Edelman as "just competent WRs".
Nether will make the NFL Hall Of Fame, they were slot receivers which can be found late in drafts. They were peak performers due to team; QB, blocking, scheme. It’s a team game.
Thank you for reinforcing my point, even though it is clear you don't realize you are doing so. I am going to type slowly to help you understand:
Just typing something doesn’t make it true, I didn’t make your point at all… I slaughtered it.
The New England Patriots had the greatest QB of all time on their team. The Chiefs currently have the greatest QB to come along since the greatest QB of all time. Consequently, each team has several rings. Brady and Mahomes won 7 of the past 10 Super Bowls. They are the best of the best at the most important position in professional sports. There is no better indicator of NFL success than having a generational quarterback on your team. As I said before, when you have a generational quarterback, you can get away with a relatively weak WR corps. (Of course, it doesn't hurt that 2 of the greatest catching TE's of all time played for the 2nd half of the Patriots dynasty plus the KC dynasty but, for some reason, you keep ignoring that.)
We’re not talking about QB’s, great QB play is a given. We’re talking about the WR position, stick to the topic. Nick Foles beat Brady with Alshon Jeffrey, very good WR but he’s not making the HOF either. History is littered with Super Bowl winners who didn’t have a league best WR on them.

What has consistently held true throughout SB history is great teams win. Hard to do when you’re paying one WR all the money.
Meanwhile......

For the 31 teams who don't have a generational QB, you find the most successful ones indeed have strong receiving corps. Teams such as Philly, San Fran, Cincy, LA, Buffalo, Dallas, Detroit, GB. Having great receivers is the best way to make an average QB look good and a good QB look great.
Generational QB is a bullsht designation that indicates a great QB on the best team in the NFL.

Joe Burrow would be “generational” if he had the most expensive OLine in football and best coordinator like Mahomes has. Herbert would be generational if he had any semblance of a great team around him… watch as Harbaugh magically turns Herbert from a good QB into a “generational” one. You will attribute it to QB magic, he simply improved… he didn’t, his team improved.

Demario Douglas is just as good as Dell… he had Mac and Dell had Stroud. Team game.

No he not no knock on Pop but Dell is much better!

The notion that “weapons” produce in a vacuum and aren’t entirely beholden to the offense around them is the worst take in football fan talk.

I remember Gronk being being the Best Offensive Skilled Position Player until Edelman developed. Gronk was around a bunch of meh Patriots WR's. My point is if a Receiver is good he's good I never forgave BB for taking Thornton over Pickens there was such a significant gap between the two that could be clearly seen what could have been.

They won a ring with Gronk on the sidelines in street clothes.

Troy Brown, Welker, Edelman, Amendola... what do they all have in common?

They were all 7th round picks or UDFA's.... seems you can win rings just competent WR's.

The Chiefs have won two rings since they traded away Tyreek. The Dolphins have folded like cheap futons...
The group of Edelman, Hogan, Amendola and Mitchell were good as a group. However, many keep sweeping under the rug that Martellus Bennett had his second best year filling in for Gronk. He almost caught the game winning TD and set up James White’s game winner.

As far as the Dolphins go, they have some serious problems when the season progresses. Mike McDaniel has done a great job, but this is the second straight season their bread and butter on offense has flamed out.
George Karlaftis, Leo Chenal and Isaiah Pacheco... all studs.
Those were their own picks.

Thornton hasn’t had a QB, he hasn’t had blocking to take advantage of the deep ball… Pickens is a big physical receiver who uses muscle and works mainly in the mid range game.

You switched the conversation entirely… Tank Dell had Stroud, Demario had Mac… apples/oranges.

Mac sucked, no receiver is producing with suck.

Wozzy I remember going back and forth with You pre draft 2023 about the possibility of taking Tank Dell and you said he was too small and won't hold up in the NFL.

Depth was a result of not blowing up your cap to pay one single weapon. Benett behind Gronk was a residual of being smart with the cap and having a QB take a little less money. The Pat’s knew how injury prone Gronk was becoming.

When all your money is tied up in Tyreek, now Waddle and you still have to pay your franchise QB… yeah, it’s hard to be a well rounded team. Especially when you traded away the house to get him and draft picks are the fastest cheapest way to build.
Those were their own picks.
Doesn’t matter, when you have ten draft picks it allows you to take chances on players and throw the kitchen sink at it. They had a great draft class, largely because they had so many picks to spend.

Ok, I get Jefferson is arguably the best WR in the league or at least the top 2-3. But is really worth $35 million a year? He just signed an extension for $140 million over four years with $110 million guaranteed. $88 million will be paid out at the signing.

Calvin Ridley's contract wasn't so crazy after all. Although I am not sure I would have paid him big money even now that his contract seems like a value. A lot of risk in that guy.

I'd much rather pay this contract than the Ridley one. Jefferson is worth it, Ridley is not.

Wrong. False. Fake news…

Well that could describe either one of us

What I said prior to that draft about Dell was I don’t want to spend a first on what amounts to a talented slot WR when that class was full of talented athletic guys just like him who could be had later in the draft… like Demario Douglass and numerous other examples.

He did only play 11 games. Douglas managed 14.
