I've always liked MH because for the most part he has a good positive vibe about him.
The past year or so I have really been tuning out of sports radio.. I'll turn it on everyone once in a while but I find more often than not I turn it off as they're just so obvious/childish/not funny/purposely obtuse. I love sports and always will, but most of these shows are now about the hosts, not the teams or players.
Most of the time now I just listen to my tunes.. Bassnectar, Biggie and Rush dominate any of the noise coming from those "sports" stations.
You must've missed the thread on this subject below. Check it out. It's already 3 pages long. Was listening to the show last Thursday and towards the end of the show he announced he was quitting. That day. No real notice, just goodbye. I'm pretty disappointed.
I started out watching D&C. That was my favorite. They slowly started to grate on me with Callahan's increased talk of politics. Even worse, they started to get boring. Way too much time devoted to non sports topics. Eventually I got to the point where I couldn't stand listening and stopped.
Next I moved on to the mid day show. They were my favorite for a while. Then they became cartoon characters. Lou developed his Angry Lou shtick. Fauria became an even bigger meat head douche. And I find myself rarely listening to that show anymore. It's to much of a circus act. I really don't like it.
Then I really started to appreciate the professionalism of the afternoon show. Specifically Holley. He was basically the entire reason I listened to that show. I really have nowhere else to go. I know there is another station in Boston, but I don't even know what it's called. I also know they have Felger and Mazz on. There is no way I am listening to either of them. Can't stand either of them and I don't respect them.
Oh, well, I still have Bill Simmons when he isn't rambling about reality TV or some other nonsense that 90% of sports fans could not care less about.

And yeah, I can't listen to Dale and Tomasse and the clown show at 98.5. It's hard times.
OT: Holley Leaving WEEI
No loss. Holley was always vanilla ice cream.
Holley has always been my "go to guy" for factual information on the Patriots, as he has had access to the locker room when writing some of his books he always had great insight.. he knew way more than most of these mediots..
Time for him to make a change, have to wonder if writing books, preparing for his radio show, doing radio and then going on TV at night was too much drain on a family man.. wish him well as he was usually a voice of reason, in a part of media that usually does not relish the idea of reason.. hysteria and controversy is much better.
He quit right after that BS sensitivity training after Fauria did nothing wrong. Didn't even finish out the week. No real notice. Something is up. The timing does not seem coincidental.

I'm in. Heading to Home Depot now to stock up on pitchforks.
It's funny you say that because after he started his TV gig Holley suddenly got much more loud and forceful on the radio. He was much more boisterous and animated as he said nothing about everything on WEEI.Yeah, who needs rational, measured, informed opinion when you can listen to idiots scream nonsensical "hot takes". Don't we already have more than enough of that in the sports media? That trend is getting really old.
