Re: Grandpa Farve...will he retire?

Wtf? What planet do you people live on?
Barrack Obama's mother was 19 years old when he was born.
George Bush jnr. was born to his 21 year old mother.
Bill Clinton's mother was 22 when he was born.
Albert Einstein's mother was also 21 when he was born.

You are talking different eras and different situations. Both Clinton and W were born the year after WWII when women were still be raised that their jobs were supposed to be barefoot and pregnant and it was important to get married young and start having kids. Einstein was born in 1879 in Germany. That was a different era and culture. Also, none of these people were born out of wedlock (although Obama was conceived weeks before his parents was married and there is no indications that it was a shotgun marriage and Clinton's father died while his wife was pregnant with him). None of them were bastards.

Brett Farve had his daughter in 1989. Favre knocked up his girlfriend by accident. He had no intention at the time to marry his wife (they didn't get married until years later).

Apparently unlike you, I live in modern America where horny teenagers with brains use condoms and don't have kids as teenagers. You apparently are stuck in the 1940s where the culture was that you got married and started a family right out of college. You do realize based on your logic, it is ok to make African American people sit in the back of the bus based solely on their skin color and women can only be secretaries and Girl Fridays in business since they were culturally acceptable in 1946.

You are comparing apples and oranges. You should actually research your point before posting. Accidentally knocking up your girlfriend at 19 in 1989 is not the same as getting married and starting a family at 21 in 1946.

Well here, everyone I know have their kids in late 20s, early 30s.

I said "with brains". There are a lot of teenagers without brains out there.

Re: Grandpa Farve...will he retire?

It's pretty amazing honestly. He's the only grandfather now in the NFL or in NFL history? I'm sure he's the only one to ever start (he will be playing this year if you haven't figured it out by now)

I've known a lot of teenagers with 4.0+ GPAs that have accidentally impregnated their girlfriends. I still don't think the point stands.

There are exceptions to the rule. Besides, some of the dumbest people I know are the smartest if you know what I mean. The smartest person in my high school who went to Harvard and graduated with honors would drown in a puddle if no one told him to pick his head off the ground. Being book smart doesn't mean you are life smart.

True damn story..I know someone who will spin your head with the books because they'll make you feel so stupid, yet this person has the common sense of a fly.

Sorry to be OT

Can't really argue with this. Book smarts and street smarts are two different things. Though, I can say I've seen the same thing happen with street smart kids.

Not to get even further OT, but who cares - I had a friend in college who was absolutely brilliant when it came to math. Problems that would fill up a chalkboard, she could do in her head. But in every other aspect, she was a complete ditz. She made Kelly Bundy look smart.

Again, there are exceptions to the rule. But most smart kids know that "No glove, no love".

Favre on the other hand comes from the backwoods of Mississippi and seem to be a hick that if he wasn't a great football player probably would have become hillbilly white trash. The fact that history is repeating itself with his daughter, kinda supports that argument.

I think after reading your last few posts that you are an exception. And not in a good way either.

Re: Grandpa Farve...will he retire?

So my main question is.... do we call him:

Lord Grandpa Favrequad
or
Grandpa Lord Favrequad

Major decisions here folks... we might need until at least August 18th to decide this one.

I think he will play as long as he can compete at a high level.
