Nobody has mentioned them having two #1's. They should be going WR with one pick and maybe replace Brian Dawkins. The Past tells us they like to draft OL. I hope they look anywhere but LB. They may trade down one pick which they always seem to do. I read they have a bunch of late round picks.

Ot, rb

.....

I see their needs/likely picks being (in no particular order):

- RB - they need a change of pace back to complement Westbrook, and possibly a long term replacement. Beanie Wells would be ideal as a big back. Knowshon Moreno and Donald Brown are also options, though less distinct in style from Westbrook.

- TE - Brandon Pettigrew or possible Jared Cook are definitely options.

- OT - Thomas and Runyan are in their upper 30's. The birds did sign Stacy Andrews as a UFA, but he's coming of major knee surgery. Both Eben Britton and William Beatty are possibilities.

- S - with the loss of Brian Dawkins and Sean Jones signed only to a 1 year deal, a long term replacement is an option. There is no obvious 1st round safety this year, though Louis Delmas and Sean Smith are possibiltiies.

- DE - Andy Reid loves drafting defense, and Jim Johnson is exceptional at figuring out how to use players. Someone like Robert Ayers could be terrific in the Eagles defense as a complement to Trent Cole. His ability to play the run and drop back into coverage as well as blitz would be highly valued here, compared with more a pure rusher like Michael Johnson.

As long as they leave a LB for us that's good. They should go WR but who cares.
thanks

RB Wells, DE Orakpo Going Oppsite Directions

With only 2 1/2 weeks until the draft, two of this classes' biggest names are going in opposite directions -- and their stock fluctuation could prove to be one of the real stories of the draft.

Anyone who has watched Beanie Wells throughout his career with the Buckeyes knows of his talent. Physically-speaking, he is clearly the best RB in this class, though questions about his consistency and toughness have caused many (including me) to rank Georgia's Knowshon Moreno as this year's best back.Wells, frankly, was disappointing even before the mysterious leg injury that robbed him of his effectiveness last season.

Scouts diligently reviewing Well's 2007 film, however, see a different back. A Larry Johnson, perhaps even Adrian Peterson-like combination of size and power. I've taken some angry comments from Packers' fans due to my projecting Wells to Green Bay in my latest mock draft. Certainly the team has other, greater needs, but there are many teams within the top ten considering Wells. His physical tools are just so great that some team, scouts tell me, is likely to pull the trigger earlier than most are anticipating.

On the flipside, Texas defensive end Brian Orakpo seems to be slipping down boards. I've spoken to scouts who operate for teams using the 4-3 and 3-4 alignments and each club is souring on the Longhorn pass-rusher. The more film teams do on Orakpo, the more they are left wondering if he is explosive and persistent enough to consistently generate a pass rush against NFL left tackles or, for that matter, agile enough to drop back into coverage. Orakpo's imposing build is impressive to look at, but belies his career-long struggles with durability, as well; another element that scouts are mentioning as a reason he could slip out of the top ten -- and perhaps considerably farther than that.

I agree with the above and would add in order of importance IMO

1) I really think they need two OL like we might next year depending on this year but it is a much more pressing issue for them. Stacey Andrews is a stop gap solution on that OL and lets not even get into what has happened with Shaun Andrews. William Tra Thomas and Jon Runyan are both in their mid-30s and Runyan should be in a booth by now as I really did not see much from him late in the year.

2) RB - I might add that they need someone who can wear down a defense or a power runner. Wells is that man IMO if he is there at 21 and would be able to convert those 4 and 1's

3) Receiver - Well they have to replace Lewis Donovan needs to have a quality receiver that will not make his life a living hell. I like Jackson but I see him as a great slot or #2 so if they were able to get a quality #1 guy either by trading up or if someone falls should be high on Reids list finally.

4) TE - Tom Selleck distant cousin Brent Celek is not the answer and I could see them looking at TE either late in the first or in the second as another weapon for McNabb.

5) DE - I love Trent Cole but to put a guys like Ayers on the other side would make Jimmy Johnson day.

Eagles will play to move up to grab the biggest OT they can find. I see them trading up to land Andre Smith around #11 spot. Michael Oher would be the next bet, I would bank on 1 of the 2 wearing an Eagles uniform.

Dudes, Thomas signed for the Jags a bit back. They don't have a LT right now.

I have them going OT then RB in my Mock.

The Eagles replaced Dawkins with Sean Jones. The Eagles also added Stacey Andrews to be their new RT.

More than likely, one of their picks will be Brandon Pettigrew if he's still on the board.

They replaced Runyan with S.Andrews. But, they lost their LT too. T.Thomas. I think that is their biggest priority. Then, they could take Pettigrew or rb. Their receivers aren't that bad. No stars. But, they have some young developing guys. Desaun Jackson reminds me
of T. Glenn. K.Curtis isn't a bad 3-4. They have J.Avent and H.Baskett. I'd say they need a veteran presence more than another young guy. NO depth behind Westbrook, and he's gotten nicked up the last couple of years.

They have Winston Justice as the LT at the minute.

They're going OT in the first round.

The Iggles are bidding with Buffalo for Jason Peters - if Buffalo can land one of the big four, or if they like either Beatty or Britton or someone on the their roster already, the Iggles may well get their LT in this draft.
