Emmylou is 79 and still out there. Poor Linda, 80, lost her voice totally to Parkinson's disease/palsy 15 years ago.

Not a huge country music fan, but Dolly always made me smile.

She was a great artist and entertainer. Plus she had a sense of humor you don’t often see. RIP.

She humbly tried to dissuade them from putting her in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but no one would hear of that either given that she was a crossover star.

I believe that Dolly wanted to be to known as country to the core. She grew up with 11 other siblings up in the mountains with no electricity or running water. Loretta Lynn was another cut from the same cloth.

Both were products of their environments.

If it says anything, there seems to be a decent sized amount of people who were huge fans of hers that couldn't name a single song she did. They were just fans of this extremely kind, genuinely funny lady.
