Mahomes team needed 3 yellow flags (Vegas) to get close winning that game and he lost as soon as his defense took the field because the Chief's D was ranked 28th worst in points allowed, 31st worst in yards allowed... and there are only 32 teams.

The very next season Reid hired Steve Spagnuolo to be his defensive coordinator, that wasn't a happy accident or coincidence.

Yeah they needed to upgrade on defense. So what? This year even with a Super Bowl win, they're looking for WRs.

You're picking apart plays and making my point. The team was on the edge of winning a Super Bowl (the winner of that game was in) with one of the worst defenses and Mahomes as a first year starter.

So why couldn't Miami win the Super Bowl with Mahomes this year again?

Because Miami would have a lesser team around Mahomes than that 2019 Chiefs roster did and they didn’t win it all.

The 2019 Chiefs had a superior offensive line and weapons with their bad defense. The 2023 Dolphins have a bad defense and bad line, they have two great WR’s and not much else.

Tua isn’t why Miami can’t make waves in the playoffs, their ability to protect Tua, run the ball with power and play defense is why they’re weak.

Miami was 10th in yds and 22nd in points allowed. Not a bad defense.

They also led the league in average yds per rush with that crappy offensive line.

Tua is exactly the reason they are first round losers.

Where he failed in the end was with the WR room the past 6 years, both drafting errors and failed FA/trade moves: N'Keal, Sanu, Antonio Brown, and many others. The number of missteps is unreal, which is really why Brady wanted out. Even recently with Jakobi Meyers, JuJu, and extending Parker.
Throw in Gordon. And when they did hit with Mitchell, the guy got a career ending injury. Truth is even on Brady's final season, they had already been struggling for years to upgrade at WR. It'd been a **** storm of bad luck and worse choices. The Sanu move was a desperate drowning gasp that never stood a chance.

There were 2 things always on BB's mind: value and depth. Shop for the best value, and make sure you can deliver on "next man up". He was the best at that.

What’s unreal is how some posters here are able to shoehorn a Bill vs. Tommy post into a thread that has absolutely nothing to do with the Bill-Brady Pats teams, while regurgitating material that has been covered many times in multiple threads over the past 3+ years.

Bills heard me and released the other overrated S Micah Hyde. That last loss to the Chefs was the final straw.

Surprised Hyde was still on the roster. He said farewell to Buffalo 2 months ago. He moved away -- think he may be retiring.
