The Patriots won 2 AFCE Championships during that period and the Jets have won nothing.
As I recall both the Patriots and the Jets were sitting at home watching the SB, so how does that make the Patriots LOSERS faster than the Jest? Maybe it's the better regular season record? Nope, that can't be it. Or, maybe they had one more game to lose than the Patriots?

It was the Patriots who humiliated themselves on national TV. TFB throwing that int in the 1st posession. Alge dropping that TD pass.

I don't know if you saw what I saw but the Patriots had the Jets reeling and had they not committed those unforced errors, we could have been looking at another 48-3 game.

I did not like losing that playoff game to the Jest one single bit. I hatedit with every fiber of my being. But the fact remains that the Jest won NOTHING this year and last year, and 42 years before that.

What **** we would've got? Losing 2 straight home playoff games is far worse than actually winning something. Is anybody giving **** to the Steelers?

And who knows if Rodgers would've raped us. Everybody had us winning vs the Jets too. That's why you play the games.

I realize that as I get older, there are more and more Patriots fans who have never lived through the dark years. Not saying that they are spoiled but they have not experienced anything other than a winning team with a great organization. It has not always been that way.

I was bitterly disappointed with the loss to the Jets. But with prospective, I enjoyed last year and the great 10 year ride we have been on.

I will repeat again: The Jets have won NOTHING over the past 2 years, other than a couple of playoff games. They have won NO AFC or SB titles since the before 1970 merger of the AFL and NFL.

So now tell me how logically they can be superior to the Patriots?

You could argue that the Steelers and Colts can claim a level of success in getting to a SB.
I think SB losers do consider getting there a consolation prize many times.

I mean I know it doesn't feel that way on the day of the loss or right after, but over time trips to the SB do represent Conference Championships.

Here are the current NFL teams ranked by Conference Championships won in the SB era, ranked 1--5 and ties, with SB wins in parentheses:

Cowboys: 8 (5)
Steelers: 8 (6)
Pats: 6 (3)
Broncos: 6 (2)
Niners: 5 (5)
Raiders: 5 (3)

The point being that it's an elite crowd who figure out how to get to the SB that often.
