OT: 49ers 'ownership' clown show continues...

I don't get it, it's a straightforward answer. If anything the question was what was stupid. "Herp derp why don't you fire yourself?"

The incompetence starts at the top, with York. Asking him why he doesn't get out of the way a/k/a fire himself is a perfectly legitimate question.

The ownership clown show is playing in every NFL marked, not just San Francisco.

I'm sure Josh and Matt don't need to be advised to tread carefully on this one.

I would be stunned if either one went to SF or Buffalo. Those are both career killers. If they have learned nothing else in NE under BB it is to avoid bad ownership.

Hadn't even considered this but now I share your opinion.

Because there wouldn't be anyone to hire the person he's getting out of the way for.

It's a very stupid question. There was only one possible answer which means it isn't a question but a chance for a reporter to grandstand.

The owners are clueless.

Taking a job there would be like moving into a haunted house with mold.

It was an excellent question, and any Patriots fan should understand that, given that Robert Kraft essentially did what York said he isn't going to do.

Cowboys fans have had to deal with their own Jed York scenario, ever since JJ left. How'd that been working out prior to this year?

I caught the press conference. He sided with Baalke over Harbaugh, fires the coach he hired to replace Harbaugh, then fires both coach and GM the next year. After all of that, he couldn't even articulate the process.

Couple that with the Bills GM saying he had no idea why Ryan was fired, and then the ownership stating otherwise in the context of a release that the management was not dysfunctional, and fans can rest assured that there are at least two franchises with little hope for the future.

It's morons like these voting owners that explains the idiocy of paying Roger JETdell ~$40M/yr.

Kraft was the person who decided to hire the coach and GM of the Patriots, so he certainly didn't do what they're asking York to do.

Jerry Jones is the GM of the Cowboys, York is not the GM of the 49ers.

Even if he wanted to remove himself from hiring the GM he'd still have to hire someone to do the hiring of the next GM, so he can't remove himself.

At the end of the day he is 100% correct, he is the owner, if folks don't like it they should buy their own team...now that wont excuse him for having a crappy team but in the end it is like being a CEO, President, Owner , yep their the boss and they are responsible for who gets hired and fired not anyone else and if your the owner I suspect you don't fire yourself. I don't know why folks cry about it, if folks don't like it be an owner or ceo. if he doesn't want to listen to other folks he doesn't have to.

I still think that attitude wont help him or his team though.

i agree, it's a dumb question. york should have just avoided answering it, though. something like, "i understand people are frustrated, nobody more so than me. i'm going to try to make the best decisions possible to help the team succeed."

maybe too much to expect from him, though.

Jed York is NOT the owner of the team, in fact. Which a SF reporter pointed out but York ignored.

That's it exactly. It was dumb question but it wasn't without merit. There was a representation of the fanbases dissatisfaction in the question itself and he could have answered it with that in mind. But he didn't and it won't fly well with the fans because they'll see it as it is which is a spoiled entitled punk rich kid suffering from a severe case of affluenza.

I watched most of the PC. One question asked was, to paraphrase, are you going to stop making football
decisions? His answer was, I don't make football decisions, so-and-so does. I couldn't make out the name he said, though upon further research it was probably the name of something called Paraag Marathe, which in itself might explain why the team is so fecked-up. If I was a reporter there, I would've shouted-out this question: then when will something called Paraag Marathe be made available to answer questions, and will he (or she) be the next one fired if the new GM & HC fail as miserably as the previous ones have done?
As long as the buck-passing continues there, no competent GM or HC will be persuaded to join that circus.

Edit: upon even further research, Marathe is nothing more than a pencil-pusher who has ZERO experience evaluating personnel, or in anything else that is actually on-field football-related. No wonder this franchise is in the toilet.
