The more I think about it the more I think the Patriots should wait a few weeks then give SF a take it or leave it offer of Atlanta’s 3rd for Deebo. Tell them the offer goes away once free agency opens up. The fact that Deebo’s contract expires after the season makes it even more enticing, as it gives them an out and a nice chunk of cap space if they don’t want to renew him. And if they do they can work something out.
Third Rounder?? You're a little too generous I'm hoping they're leaning towards a 5th. The 49ers have shown their hands: which takes away their advantage. I think a 4th is even too rich for Deebo right now. He has some concerning baggage.

I would much rather give a 3rd for Deebo than give Tee Higgins 30 million+ a year.

Still waiting for your answer on whether Wolf was right to stay out of last year’s free agent market so they could spend in this market?

For some reason you don’t want to answer it?

Tee Higgins will get $30 Mill from us or somebody else... the only way you get a Good young WR these days is Drafting them. Hopefully this New Regime have better luck than the previous. Giving up a Third for a player like the current Deebo gets GM's fired. Deebo Samuel is not worth a Third.

I thought I did nobody Wanted to come here. That's why we pathetically overpaid for our Own FA's. Dugger -Michael OnFatwu among others.

Knowing we sat on a lot of money last year. We need to come away with a LT and WR like Tee Higgins in FA: that would be a start. Stop trying to save the Krafts $$$$$$$$ they have plenty to burn. Teams can always be creative with Contracts: a lot of upfront $$$$$$ lower the cap Hit. That Deebo you like had a similar Contract extension plenty guaranteed upfront low cap Hit.

A third? Hard pass. Deebo has averaged 14 games, 56 catches, 731 yards, and 3 receiving TDs a year for the past 3 seasons. He isn't worth much more than a late round flier and will likely end up getting cut if the 49ers can't find a trade partner.

I'm a draft pick miser and would not trade one at this point under any circumstance. On the other hand, it will be interesting to see how minnesota does next year. They basically plugged holes with aging veterans and really surprised a lot of people. To their credit, they plugged really well. It feels like fool's gold to me, but maybe they're right?

No, what you said was “ they better spend that money this year.” And the vast majority of fans here wanted Onwenu back, as well as Barmore.

Bottom line, whether you want to admit it or not, Wolf was right to re-sign their own young players, and to avoid spending on the overall free agent market. Now they have 135 million plus to spend, and no significant free agents if their own to sign. You can thank Wolf for that, even though you never will.

We only need one Onwenu is our New RT.

Wel well well. Once again I find revisionist history from Patsfan2.

This is what you said about Onwenu right before Wolf re-signed him, among other positive things, like how well he had played against JJ Watt.

It’s just like JaLynn Polk, who you wanted pre draft in the draft forum, and then ragged on Wolf all season for taking. You say one thing at the time it’s taking place, and then do a 180 and blame Wolf for either picking them or re signing them when you don’t like how they play.

You have zero credibility, you just blow in the wind changing your opinions with every opportunity to second guess.

You have an Axe to grind ... Onwenu got like a Fat Poker after the Contract. They should have put a clause in his contract regarding that: the very reason why he fell to the Sixth Round in his original Draft. I don't think J Polk is that bad but $h!t happens. Your gripe like with some others is against paying Tee Higgins $30 Mill the going rate mind you. I will remember to Rub it in your face when we do Piss me Off!!

On Michael Onwenu: don't be surprised if Mike Vrabel Trades him on Draft day. They like Layden Robinson: David Andrews is coming back so they can move Cole Strange back to his regular LG Spot. Don't forget to resurrect this when it happens.

According to OTC, Onwenu if traded pre June 1st will have a cap hit of 15M with 6M in savings. A post June 1st trade will result in a cap hit of 7.5M and 13.5M in savings. He's your best OL and even though he did not perform up to expectations (playing out of position, playing with rotating teammates, weight issues) all you have to do to get better out of him is solidify the players next to him and get him into weight management. Those are all easy fixes. Why get rid of him and take such a large cap hit? Makes no sense.

Oh boy these contracts with the dead cap hits.

Why would they trade him?

A trade AND a top 10 free agent seems more likely, perhaps Deebo and Hopkins.

Who is "they"?

I can't imagine they watched his tape last year and said, "He's better than Mike Onwenu".

I wouldn't be opposed to moving on from both of them, but Robinson sucks. I don't understand the love he gets.

You're going to burn a top-100 draft pick for a one-year rental, instead of a 26 year old who will be here for 4 years, only costs you money, oh, and is actually better?

Ok.
Huck: is amazing TommyD and we thought Wolf was bad.
